Although the Chao ( p = 0.089), ACE ( p = 0.087) and Simpson ( p = 0.132) indices also showed an increasing trend in the SCH group, these differences did not reach statistical significance.

Claudin-1, although not significantly increased, shows a positive trend, suggesting a generalised but uneven enhancement of tight junctions.
