From a program planning perspective, these results indicate that education and awareness may be significant contributing factors to improving acceptance of self-collection and subsequently, improving screening attendance rates.
Excerpts
Notified rates currently show an increasing trend, but the rise started later than in other countries: during the period 1995–2001 rates decreased sharply, from 11.7/100 000 to 2.0/100 000, but in 2002 the trend changed and the incidence has steadily increased to a rate of 5.1/100 000 in 2011 [ 6 ].
Background Previous studies have characterized an increasing trend of double burden households, or households with individuals experiencing both undernutrition and obesity, in countries undergoing a nutrition transition.
a clear trendgold
While prevalence for childhood stunting and underweight are high in all of the countries surveyed (between 30-40% for stunting and 20-30% for underweight for many of the countries), a clear trend in the association between childhood undernutrition and maternal obesity or overweight does not emerge.
Recently, a survey demonstrated a decreasing trend of hypertension in western countries, but an increasing trend among Southeast Asia and Oceania [ 3 ].
a positive trendgold
(QB01) Some respondents thought the recession reversed a positive trend of buying more healthy foods.
In the present analysis, we compared the pooled ORs before and after combined adjustment for confounders, and observed a decreasing trend after the adjustment for potential confounders.
The prevalence of T2D clearly increased with increasing deprivation for both men and women, and the Cochran–Armitage test for trend indicated that this increase was highly significant.
There was an increasing trend of objective sedentary time with older age, higher proportion of men, being married, higher education level, increased level of total and occupational sedentary time and MVPA measured by self-report, and decreased levels of MVPA measured by accelerometry.
Total subjective sedentary time showed a significant trend with greater saturated fat consumption, longer leisure time and occupational sedentary time, and less objective MVPA.
Discussion We demonstrated a statistically significant effect of PM 2.5 on a reduction in HRV measured by HF, pNN10, and pNN20, and in SDNN and rMSSD that showed a marginally significant effect.
However, after applying Bonferroni correction for multiple testing, this association appeared to be only borderline significant.
However, the p -value reached only a borderline significance after Bonferroni correction for the multiple testing.
This indicates that there is an increasing trend in risk factors as the population ages.
an overall trendgold
Our model of sex, school grade level and overall SBMU (<2 hours, > 2 hours) supported our hypothesis that SBMU would be higher among older participants: with the exception of Grade 3 there was an overall trend for increasing SBMU across both boys and girls as they got older (up to 16 years).
The relationship between intervention 2 compared to 0 was nearly significant in both the crude and adjusted analysis (OR = 2.30, 95% CI [0.97-5.48], Adjusted OR = 2.37, 95% CI [0.99-5.67] respectively), hence among women who had their 1 st ANC visit in the 2 nd trimester of their pregnancy, women who were in the APAS and resided in the MVP cluster had twice the odds of going for more, rather than less, ANC visits compared to women who were not in the APAS and resided outside the MVP cluster (power = 0.58).
The campaign was associated with a marginally significant increase in the likelihood of purchasing foods promoted as healthy in intervention restaurants.
Previous studies have reported an increasing trend with age or a decrease after age 65 years [ 3 , 30 ].
Thus, this study suggests that caregiving stress among female family caregivers may be significant enough to lead to a functional decline of the kidneys, as well as high blood pressure.
a positive trendgold
No significant difference was found between boys and girls with respect to the number of meals served outside the home, but a positive trend with age was observed for students with more meals served outside.
Child age has somewhat significant non linear effect to childhood anaemia (Figure 2 ) since the variance parameter for the effect of child age is not zero (Table 3 ).
After controlling for place of residence, household wealth quintile and sex of child, household ownership of poultry or birds and child’s age group were significantly associated with stunting, while short birth interval was marginally significant.
Contrary to our hypothesis, we found an inverse association between the access to convenience stores and obesity and we only observed a borderline significant association between access to fast food outlets and fast food consumption in the urban strata.
Highly significant positive correlations were found between agricultural biodiversity and NARs of calcium, iron, zinc, vitamin A, B6, C, folate, riboflavin, protein and energy, indicating the very strong relationship between dietary adequacy and biodiversity.
A decreasing trend in cardiovascular disease mortality compared with an increased mortality from ill-defined causes was observed in the last decades in the city of Rio de Janeiro, suggesting that these cardiovascular deaths may have been included among the poorly defined causes [ 17 , 42 ].
