In contrast, when we compared the BDM value at T1 with that at T0 in the same patient, the decrease became highly significant.

Further, the QoL (measured by the SRQoL, and the QOL-AD) improved in two studies [ 48 , 51 ], with a tendency towards significance in another one [ 47 ].

Age at diagnosis and high crystal load at inclusion, which were nearly significant in the multivariate model, suggest that it is never too late in life and in the disease course to achieve optimal management.

Even though there was only a statistical trend, it was surprising, as this parameter was also expected to increase by the mechanisms mentioned above.

Current pain intensity was not considered in the following analyses because the correlation analyses revealed highly significant positive correlations between current global pain-induced disability and current pain intensity in this study population ( Table 2 ).

Stomach cancer showed an increasing trend of association in the higher HbA1c quintile (model 1, Ptrend = 0.044; model 2, Ptrend = 0.034).

Our study did not find an increase in BNP levels by DPP-4i, but there was a markedly significant decrease in this biomarker during follow-up time in both groups.

Second, although there was a numerical trend for lower C-reactive protein with DPP-4i, we could not find a statistically significant difference between groups in this marker of inflammation.

Moreover, the prevalence of viral pneumonia decreases with age; we found a decrease from 32% in 3–11 mo, to 14% (12–59 mo) and 9% (5 years and older), and a decreasing trend was also observed in studies from Egypt, the USA, Norway, and Taiwan [ 11 , 15 , 16 , 42 ].

Statistical significance was maintained for the ICH group, with the exception of AF, where only a marginal trend for association was found.

PRO-C3 (i.e., type III collagen formation) was the only biomarker that demonstrated an elevated trend in remission compared to active disease, indicating increased formation and tissue deposition of type III collagen as a healing response.

Moreover, our results show that G-CSF had a highly significant correlation with MBL.

There were highly significant differences between myopic and non-myopic children with low and moderate levels of PA, whilst there were no significant differences between myopic and non-myopic children with high levels of PA.

However, the prevalence of sleep disorders did not show an increasing trend according to categorized CCI scores ( Table 3 ).

The value of R2 Nagelkerke indicates whether the model is useful in making predictions; although the explanatory contribution of two variables in the prediction is not statistically significant, the magnitude of the effect may be significant. 3.

Although it has been reported a worsening of mental wellbeing across the first three pre-clinical years [ 37 , 38 ], this result seems to confirm the findings of a review showing a decreasing trend during the last years [ 3 ].
