One-way ANOVA detected a statistical trendwise effect for intergroup differences in Purkinje cell densities (F = 3.327; p = 0.0587) and statistically significant differences for granule cell densities (F = 45.64; p < 0.0001).

Further, when using reward expectancy neurons only, no increase in the decoder’s performance was observed (Δ performance = +0.01 ± 0.02 with n = 30 neurons, p = 0.21), while there was a statistical trend increase in the decoder’s performance when excluding reward expectancy neurons (Δ performance = +0.10 ± 0.04 with n = 99 neurons, p = 0.059).
