Further inspection of the time including the time to the primary submovement showed a main effect of type that approached conventional levels of significance, F (2,14) = 3.65, p = 0.053, ƞ p 2 = 0.34, where there appeared to be shorter times for movements with a functional and non-functional type 1 compared to type 2 + 3.
Measured step frequency was uncorrelated with FSA either within or between groups ( Fig 2B ), but preferred step frequency correlated strongly with FSA in the population as a whole (r = 0.692; p<0.001) and within the habitually shod runners (r = 0.652; p = 0.002), and approached conventional levels of significance within the habitually barefoot groups (r = 0.333; p = 0.07) ( Fig 2C ).
When all measures of religiosity were analyzed together, only the relationships between enjoyment and Extrinsic Personal Orientation remained significant at the .05 level ( γ 02 = .16, p < .01), although the relationship between enjoyment and Intrinsic Orientation approached conventional levels of significance ( γ 01 = .09, p = .09).
In particular, a negative moderation effect was found for tenseness ( β 3 = −.42; p <.05), depression ( β 3 = −1.86; p <.01), worry ( β 3 = −.55; p <.05), miserableness ( β 3 = −.87; p <.01), and uneasiness ( β 3 = −.53; p <.01), while the moderation effect for gloominess approached conventional levels of significance ( β 3 = −.43; p <.10).
The main finding was that associations between baseline HRV and peer success differed across early school years—specifically, support for the ES framework was found in kindergarten, whereas first grade findings trended toward supporting the ER framework, although results only approached conventional levels of significance.
