The 11 men who had erectile and ejaculatory dysfunction as a plausible escitalopram side-effect had lower mean testosterone (13.8 ± 4.7 nM) and estradiol (0.084 ± 0.023 nM) than the men without the side-effects (19.6 ± 8.7 nM and 0.110 ± 0.034 nM), which was borderline significant for testosterone (Hedges' g = 0.81, t (18.9) = 2.1, p = 0.050) and significant for estradiol using Welch's tests (Hedges' g = 0.86, t (20.9) = 2.2, p = 0.039).
