Additional sensitivity analyses To assess whether the borderline significant association between maternal use of macrolides during gestational weeks 28 to birth and IHPS was driven by postnatal use of macrolides, we performed analyses with censoring at any postnatal use of macrolides, yielding a rate ratio of 1.54 (95% confidence interval 0.77 to 3.09).
There was a borderline significant difference in OS outcomes when comparing RAC2 low / TGFB1 lowMe ( n = 40, mOS = 66.9 months) versus RAC2 low / TGFB1 highMe ( n = 48, mOS = 19.4 months, OS difference = −47.4, p = 0.051) groups of patients ( Figure S7D ).
Considering all the exposure estimates, expression of TNF-α was associated with both water and urinary concentrations of arsenic, that of POLB was associated with nail and urinary levels, and that of KCNA5 was associated with water and nail levels (and was borderline significant with urinary arsenic).

Correlation coefficients and p values are given in Table 2 . Correlations of complement activation markers to mRSS and COMP To find out whether complement activation correlates to the severity of fibrosis expressed by mRSS, we performed Spearman’s correlation analysis and found weak, borderline significant correlation between mRSS and C4d (Table 3 ).
