Suspension exercise therapy (SET, 3 studies) demonstrated borderline significant effects (SMD = −3.07, 95% CI: −6.18 to 0.04, Z = 1.94, P = 0.05) with extraordinary heterogeneity ( I 2 = 99%), where Guo 2018 (SMD = −5.70) and Niu 2019 (SMD = −2.63) contributed extreme effect sizes that substantially influenced the pooled estimate.
In females, we also found a borderline significant association of higher plasma IGF1 levels with cardiovascular mortality (0.43, 0.18–1.00; p = 0.05; see Supplemental Table S2 , Model 1), but neither a significant association with cancer-related mortality (1.50, 0.45–4.93; p = 0.51; see Supplemental Table S3 , Model 1), nor with mortality from miscellaneous causes (0.43, 0.10–1.78; p = 0.24; see Supplemental Table S4 , Model 1).
