Villous blunting (defined as shortened villi without decrease in villous to crypt ratio) was common in IgA DGP positive patients compared to those who were IgA DGP negative, although the difference just failed to reach statistical significance (15/34 = 44% versus 42/152 = 27.6%, P = 0.059) ( Table ).
Endoscopists with average inspection times of >1 min per centimeter of Barrett’s mucosa had higher detection rates of endoscopically suspicious lesions (54.2% vs 13.3%, P=0.04) but the difference in rates of HGD/early esophageal adenocarcinoma just failed to reach statistical significance (40.2% vs 6.7%, P =0.06).
In contrast, paternal support for FV was not associated with child FV consumption when calculated for the entire sample (r = 0.13; P = 0.16) or girls alone (r = 0.05; P = 0.68); however, the correlation among boys just failed to reach statistical significance (r = 0.25; P = 0.06).
We have also observed that in 2 year old Tg2576 mice a very similar ∼12% reduction in spike width is seen under similar experimental conditions (0.67 ± 0.02 ms (WT, n = 17) versus 0.60 ± 0.03 ms (Tg2576, n = 20)), although this change just failed to reach statistical significance ( P < 0.06), probably due to the lower statistical power is this study than in our work on cohorts of PSAPP and PDAPP.
In general, CTO cases had higher scores on measures of coercion ( Pridham et al., 2016 ), although this only just failed to reach statistical significance in one meta-analysis of two studies ( p = 0.06) ( Kisely et al., 2017 ).
