However, we did find marginal significance in both these split conditions, and the absence of a three-way interaction effect between self/other, previous, and current congruency suggests that our significant Gratton effect was not specifically driven by only the following self, or only the following other trials.

Multiple comparisons for the reward variant using Tukey's Honestly Significant Difference test showed that only the unidirectional instructions for seeking reward differed from the standard and no hint instructions; however, the significance levels of these variables were p = 0.08 and p = 0.09, respectively, indicating marginal significance.
Correlation analysis with relevant data from an external large study, i.e., DEMETER data 15 of RNAi screening showed moderate level correlation but with highly statistical significance for the data of a total of 460 cell lines shared between this dataset and ours (Supplementary Figure 3D ), although the CERES scores 16 of CRISPR screening showed only modest correlation with marginal significance (Supplementary Figure 3E ).
The interaction between household net-income and major medical diseases showed a trend with marginal significance in the fully adjusted model (Odds Ratio (OR) 0.78, 0.60–1.02): Major medical disease only increased the risk in persons in the low household net-income category (< 3000 €) and not in the group of persons with high income (Fig. 1 ).
3 Additional File 5 ). At the mid-chemotherapy time-point, a mixed effects model, adjusted for age, showed significant shortening for 8 telomeres [1p ( p = 0.022), 5q ( p = 0.041), 7q ( p = 0.025), 9q ( p = 0.045), 18q ( p = 0.002), 20p ( p = 0.020), 21q ( p = 0.040), and 22p ( p = 0.025)], along with marginal significance values for decreases in length for 12 additional telomeres [6p, 6q, 7p, 8p, 9p, 10q, 13p, 13q, 14q, 17q, 18p, and 22q] (Additional Files 5 and 6 ).
