Visual patterns reflected significant differences between years, with pairwise comparisons revealing no significant differences in benthic communities between 2015 and 2016 ( p = 0.79), yet significant and nearly significant differences between 2015 and 2020 ( p = 0.04) and 2016 and 2020 ( p = 0.06), respectively (Fig. 3 , Table S3).

Connectivity The main effect of group was significant for eyes-open temporal asymmetry, considering all band frequencies as dependent variables (Pillai’s trace = 0.63, F(15, 114) = 2.04, p = 0.02, ηp2 = 0.21), and the main effect of time was nearly significant for eyes-open frontal alpha asymmetry (F(1.61, 80) = 3.46, p = 0.047, ηp2 = 0.08).
