Perfusion of 200 μM of each of the peptides (n = 6) produced a slightly significant reduction in peak amplitude (Fig. 11 c; command voltage = + 30: control = 3045 ± 68; kunitz4-b = 2685 ± 51.3, p = 0.012; kunitz4-c = 2816 ± 43.1, p = 0.032) and the steady-state current (control = 2468 ± 39; kunitz4-a = 2115 ± 34.6, p = 0.045; kunitz4-c = 2031 ± 42.1, p = 0.04), whereas 200 μM of kunitz4-a (n = 6) produced a non-significant peak current.
In particular, the coefficient of t is negative and significant (p-values=3.144e-32, 0.0001, and 0.0006, respectively, for Olympic and 0.008, 0.025 and 0.023, respectively, for APEC), while the coefficient of t-squared is positive and slightly significant (p-values=0.012 and 0.053 for Olympic and 0.003 and 0.004 for APEC).
Consistently, we observe a modest and slightly significant difference in the k/λ ratio between the two groups ( p = 0.013), further confirming that the FLC increase is likely to occur because of a nonspecific B-cell activation in the inflammatory process induced by SARS-CoV-2.
