A decreasing trend was described by the degree of dysplasia with a sensitivity of 48%, 43%, and 27% for CIN3 in the ASCUS, LSIL, and NILM groups, respectively [ 9 ].

A clear trend of increasing hospital stay duration with higher complexity scores was also observed; the median stay was 2 days for scores 1 and 2, 4 days for score 3, and 9 days for score 4 ( p < 0.001 for all).

A decreasing trend in latency period was observed for subsequent primary cancers, with the median interval period between diagnoses being 4.1 years for first to second primary cancers, 2.1 years for second to third ( p = 0.000), and 1.6 years for third to fourth ( p = 0.963) ( Table 2 ).

The other factor of borderline significance was older age (>65 years), which was again associated with a trend to a higher rate of mobilization failure (OR = 3.16, 95% CI 0.91 to 11.11).

An initial phase 3 study of patients with ND-AML receiving daunorubicin and cytarabine (DA) with or without GO at a dose of 6 mg/m 2 on day 4 showed a trend toward superior survival in the DA-only group.

The loss of BAP1 showed a strong trend toward improved median survival and was associated with higher histological grade and absent lymphatic invasion [ 161 ].

This suggests that there might be significant issues in achieving a highly synergistic drug combination with precision in individual patients.

There is a clear trend to further reduce the fraction number and overall treatment time.

In addition, within the phase I trial for SHR-1701, aggregated p-SMAD2 levels across all cancer subtypes (advanced solid tumors) showed a trend towards increased ORR with high baseline SMAD-2 levels [ 79 ].

Statistical analysis revealed that the differences in RFS, DDFS, OS, and BCSS between the SLNB and ALND groups were highly significant.

On the other hand, the IMpassion031 trial comparing PD-L1 inhibitor atezolizumab to placebo given with nab-paclitaxel-EC followed by atezolizumab or placebo after surgery did show a significant improvement in pCR, but it demonstrated only a nonsignificant improvement in EFS with a strong trend for OS [ 94 , 116 ].

A systematic review of 12 retrospective clinical trials showed only a weak trend towards lower local recurrence rates after adjuvant postoperative radiotherapy compared to surgery alone [ 89 ]. 2.8.

Trends in Cancer Stage Distribution In the national database, the analysis shows a significant trend in the distribution of cancer stages at diagnosis over time ( Figure 1 A).

A decreasing trend was also reported for specific cancer types, such as colorectal cancer [ 8 , 9 , 13 ], lung cancer [ 9 , 13 ], skin melanoma [ 14 ], female breast cancer [ 9 , 13 ], prostate cancer [ 15 ], head and neck cancer [ 16 ], and pancreatic, gastric, and oesophageal cancer [ 13 ].

In the analysis of all-cause mortality for the different beta-lactam arm, newer publication years showed a trend favoring the combination of beta-lactam with aminoglycosides.

Table 3 presents the results of the multivariate analysis, including only the variables that were found to be either significant or nearly significant.

found a decreasing trend in bacterial diversity from non-atrophic gastritis (NAG) to intestinal metaplasia (IM) and then to intestinal-type gastric cancer [ 41 , 47 , 48 , 49 , 50 , 51 ].

Vascular invasion was associated with a significantly worse overall survival, while perineural invasion showed a trend toward worse overall survival, although this was not statistically significant.

The analysis shows a notable trend of higher muscle mass-related parameters in males compared to females.

For example, in the Netherlands, high volume hospitals perform PN more often for cT1b tumors compared to lower volume hospitals, and there appears to be an increasing trend toward active surveillance in patients with cT1a tumors [ 22 ].

Even though anti-PD-1 therapy as a single agent showed a strong trend toward delaying tumor growth regardless of the anatomic site of the tumor ( Supplementary Figure S5A ), the combination of anti-PD-1 with either CBL0137 HAI or 5FU HAI did not improve survival compared to anti-PD-1 alone in the CT26 model ( Figure 7 A).

We present additional correlative relationships using IHC staining intensity to rank breast/colon tumors based on Ki67 grade and TMN_M/TMN_N/TMN_T values that proved to be not quite significant but trends in that direction ( Supplemental Figure S2A –C).

Significant associations have been observed in Asian populations [ 10 ] and borderline significance has been observed for Caucasian [ 11 ] populations, while there have been no significant findings among African populations [ 10 , 11 ].

We found a marginally significant increased risk of biochemical relapse in patients with medium-length alleles compared with patients that had short-/long-length alleles (HR = 2.01, 95% CI = 0.93–4.30, p = 0.074, Figure 3 C(i)).
