The reason to expect so many marginally significant results would derive from the nature of the immune response, where host resistance is dependent on many individual immunological responses [ 40 – 44 ], as well as peristalsis [ 45 – 47 ], which plays important role on parasite expulsion.
Excerpts
A recent study in Australia reported an OHCA incidence rate reflecting 52.6 events per 100,000 person-years in 2004–2005, and a decreasing trend leading to a rate of 48.4 events per 100,000 person-years in 2009–2010 [ 23 ].
Log-transformation also revealed marginally significant differences between queens and workers (both nurses and foragers), suggesting that queens may have a unique rare microbiome.
For interpreting the patterns observed, we assumed that an increasing trend at the same time for both outcomes (V and kg) would tend to be associated with an increase in animal mortality; however, when the trends differed between outcomes other causes, such as changes related to the logistics of collection, might be also postulated.
However, on multivariable analysis only BMI remained significantly associated with baseline Gal-3 levels (Beta = .235, p = 0.016) while female gender and both risk scores showed a trend for association ( Table 3 ).
Both of the income inequality measures retained, for all lagged values, their statistical significance (or were marginally non-significant at 0.05) when the analysis controlled for GDP change.
However, if taking into account multiple comparison of 10 different parameters, this nominally significant result would not be statistically significant.
The differences in prevalence between kidney and liver (p-value: 0.07) and kidney and lung (p-value: 0.07) were marginally significant.
Although no significant effect for bystanders’ attitude toward the participants on participants’ perceived performance ( H1a ) was found for the whole dataset, the effect approached significance in the hypothesized direction.
In contrast, after 2016, i.e., after the regions were selected for the pilot list of returnee entrepreneurs, significant differences emerged, as shown by the fact that the AER of the pilot counties and the non-pilot counties together showed an increasing trend.
Accordingly, these three genes showed highly significant correlation of their expression pattern, based on transcriptome analysis [ 20 ].
Broader topics, such as Topic 0 (Injury, knee, players), showed mild positive autocorrelation (DW ≈ 1.3), reflecting the “research inertia” or cumulative advantage characteristic of established, high-volume fields; however, their growth trends remained statistically highly significant (p adj < 0.001).
Carbon emissions of urban households in the YRD can be expected to maintain an increasing trend with the ongoing process of urbanization and economic development in the next decade.
Of note, the animals with neuronal let-363 knockdown showed a trend for increased PLM sprouting, though it is not statistically significant ( Fig 2J , P = 0.07, and 2L).
However, highly significant differences were observed across the 12 tested antimicrobials.
All main effects— overbulking , is_thigh , and stiffness_level —were highly significant positive predictors of strain.
It can be observed that the highly significant markers were not always the SNPs with the greatest effect.
As shown in Table 2 , four of the five proteins remain significantly associated with GA even after adjusting for age and sex with the exception of CRP which was barely significant before adjustment.
In contrast, gain trials showed a trend in the opposite direction (more risky choices under low time pressure than under high time pressure).
a clear trendgold
There is a clear trend of increasing institutional births over time as it has been reported in previous publications from the Initiative [ 8 ].
a positive trendgold
A positive trend in adherence to quality domains was observed throughout the follow-up periods, particularly in Honduras, Nicaragua, and Chiapas, indicating improvements in intrapartum care of institutional deliveries over time.
It is also noted that, all P-values obtained through paired t-test are smaller than 0.01, which means that the differences are statistically highly significant.
an evident trendgold
In our data, there is an evident trend of this kind, which makes it reasonable to use the DMC.
After correcting for the effect of multicollinearity among predictor variables, neonates born to mothers with an increased component of Aymara ancestry showed significantly higher birth weight and height at sea level, a marginally significant (p-value 0.06) decrease of birth weight and a significant decrease of height with altitude in comparison with the offspring of mothers with low Aymara ancestry.
Specifically, changes in LFOs in the slow-5 band were identified in widespread cortical regions, including the parietal lobules, occipital gyrus, precuneus, and temporal gyrus, whereas LFOs in the slow-4 band only showed marginally significant changes that were limited to the parietal lobules.
