The only correlation that was approaching significance was that of changes in α4β1 expression with changes in HBI score, suggesting that decrease of the former might go along with increase of the latter parameter.
The decision to use a backward selection model allowed all of the clinical and demographic risk factors that were approaching significance to be initially included in the model and then systematically removed if they did not add to the significance of the overall model.
(2009) reported such relationship for only 1 comparison out of 4, a careful examination of their figure S4 A , suggests that at least one other comparison may be approaching significance, demonstrating the same pattern we observed in this study: highly expressed genes are strongly compensated for the deficiency, perhaps with a hint of a nonmonotonic relationship (see also fig.
It occurred in 10 of 14 knees (71.43%) with recurrence and 13 of 31 knees (41.94%) without (χ 2 test, p = 0.066, OR = 3.46), approaching significance.
In addition, researchers have pointed out that a non-significant correlation between the needs for autonomy and prosocial behavior with a negative parameter estimate approaching significance may indicate suppression effects ( Maassen and Bakker, 2001 ; Morgan, 2016 ), which means that although the satisfaction of autonomy needs at school did not directly influence children’s prosocial behavior, it still could influence prosocial behavior through potential mediators ( MacKinnon, 2008 ; Quoidbach et al., 2010 ; Wen and Ye, 2014 ; Morgan, 2016 ).
Story awareness among current users of e-cigarettes exhibited no differences or trends approaching significance for beliefs that e-cigarettes are riskier, cause lung damage, or have long-term health benefits compared to regular cigarettes .
While specialists and non-specialists demonstrated similar acceleration capabilities across all, specialists showed consistently higher velocities, with hip angular velocity approaching significance and linear foot velocity demonstrating a strong trend.
We will stop if (1) no positive change approaching significance in any of the primary outcomes in SC+: survivors’ housing knowledge, housing self-efficacy, or staff trust, relative to SC, is observed; or (2) survivors, on average, do not intend to continue the use of the tool, as measured by scores of 2=Disagree or 1=Strongly Disagree on the Likert scale.
Interaction terms of cardiovascular risk factors and ethnicity were approaching significance only in the association of obesity with the K10 in women.
The positive association of TyG-obesity measures with ischemic stroke attenuated after sequential adjustment for potential mediating factors, aligning with findings from other studies on this attenuated trend [ 7 , 46 , 47 ], and in the fully adjusted models, the significant association between TyG-related indices and ischemic stroke disappeared in rural Chinese residents, with only TyG-BRI approaching significance and showing an approximately linear relationship.
A higher level of absolute neutrophils was also found to be an independent predictor for maximum hemoglobin > 15 mg/dL, with the p value approaching significance (Table 5 ).
Behavioral problems and the UF We found a significant negative association of internalizing problems and right UF in children born at term and a positive association approaching significance in children born preterm.
This effect was especially apparent at the 3-month follow-up ( d =0.281, reduction on the IDS-SR was 8.2 points for iFD and 4.8 for PMR), whereas the group difference was only approaching significance after 6 weeks (following the intervention, the main outcome as predefined in the study protocol, d =0.192).
