“near-significant”

Although there was a near-significant relationship in the direction of “expectations” (B = 0.058, SE = 0.032, β = 0.064, z = 1.83, p = 0.068), the indirect effect on sport persistence did not reach the level of significance (B = 0.042, SE = 0.024, β = 0.021, z = 1.74, p = 0.082).

Results: MANOVA showed a near-significant multivariate effect of BMI on psychological variables (Wilks’ Lambda = 0.913, p = 0.068).

The analysis of PFS was only near-significant in this cohort (HR = 1.66, 95% CI 0.962–2.86; Cox P = 0.0685; Fig. 4 b), although patients with hypoalbuminemia had a median of 4 months, while patients with normal albumin had a median PFS of 8 months.

In addition, self-reported connectedness had a small positive correlation with beta-endorphin, accounting for 6% of the variation (B = 2.991, SEM = 1.107, t (134) = 2.703, p = .008) and a near-significant correlation with oxytocin, accounting for 4% of the variation (B = 1.422, SEM = 0.773, t (103) = 1.840, p = .069).

The percentage of Th_CD4+ cells expressing PD-L1 showed a near-significant increase (β = +2.29, p = 0.069), possibly indicating heightened immune activation, while B_CD19+ PD-1 expression showed a non-significant negative trend (β = −2.10, p = 0.097).

Ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-Q-TOF-MS) detected 561 differentially expressed metabolites (DEMs), showing near-significant enrichment ( p = 0.069) in phenylalanine metabolism.

The pH parameter (A) showed a near-significant effect ( P = 0.0693), suggesting its moderate influence on the removal efficiency.

There was also a near-significant difference between BD/CU+ participants ( t = 1.85, p = 0.07), such that the BD/CU+ participants also had slower processing speed relative to the HC/CU− participants.

PERMANOVA analysis indicated that the composition of saprotrophic fungi was only significantly influenced by years since fire (49.2%; p < 0.005), soil pH had a near-significant effect on β-diversity of saprotrophic fungi (5.9%, p = 0.07; supplementary Fig. 2 b).

There was a near-significant association between bednet use and reduced current fever rate (OR 0.52, 95% CI 0.26–1.07, p = 0.07) but surprisingly, those using bednets were more likely to have a history of fever than those without (OR 1.82, 95% CI 1.24–2.69, p = 0.002).

11 Recently, Qurashi and colleagues 12 conducted a trial in Pakistan, where 326 participants, aged between 16-35 years, were treated for 6 months with omega-3 PUFAs only, omega-3 PUFAs plus minocycline, minocycline only or placebo, followed by a 6-month observation period; the subjects treated with omega-3 PUFAs (with or without minocycline) had near-significant higher transition rate ( p = .07) compared to subjects not treated with omega-3 PUFAs.

Figure 6C shows limited calpain activity in uninfected cells with the espA mutant causing a near-significant increase by 4 h post infection ( P = 0.07; Fig. 1 ).

There was also near-significant evidence suggesting that the difference was location-specific (Repeated Measures ANOVA, interaction p = 0.07).

The Unified PD Rating Scale (UPDRS) score displayed significant correlation with total salivary protein ( P = 0.002) and near-significant correlation with salivary flow ( P = 0.07).

The confidence interval for flow velocity narrowly included zero with a near-significant p value (p = 0.07) from the t-test (supplementary file “ Supplements ”, table S4 ).

Main effects of emotional valence According to the pre-registered statistical analysis plan, we first examined the main effect of emotional valence on our dependent measures using ANOVAs with emotional valence (positive, neutral, negative) as independent variable: Skin conductance The repeated-measures ANOVA revealed a near-significant main effect of emotional valence, F(2,104) = 2.80, p = 0.07, η 2 = 0.05 ( Fig 2A , S2 – S4 Tables).

Latency to Disengage First Gaze away from Aggressive Faces is Faster following the Health Check GLMM performed on the mean latency to disengage gaze from aggressive and neutral faces revealed a significant main effect of testing condition ( F 1,54 = 7.07, p = 0.01) and a near-significant interaction of face x condition ( F 1,54 = 3.41, p = 0.07: Figure 2B ).
