A more pronounced increase was observed from 2015 to 2020, with an increase from 24 to the 43 articles included in the present study, which follows an evident trend of expansion in investigations about animal temperament/personality.
Gas production is basically the result of fermentation of carbohydrates to acetate, propionate and butyrate, and a highly significant correlation has been observed between short chain fatty acids and gas production [ 59 , 60 ].
Animal carers also need to consider the potential impacts of inter and intra-observer variability on scoring which may be significant when statistical methods on group data are not used to smooth out variability.
Post-hoc testing of categorical predictors that approached significance were investigated using the “lsmeans” [ 33 ] and “pbkrtest” [ 34 ] packages in RStudio, for continuous predictors, model estimates were evaluated to determine the direction of any effect.
There is a highly significant relationship between an increasing number of lechwe housed and a greater area of outdoor paddock (Q = 0.005) as well as a significant effect of overall intended herd size on the area of the animal’s outside paddock (Q = 0.01).
The number of founders, ancestors and herds over 4 periods of 5 years ( Figure 11 ) shows a decreasing trend and, consequently, some genetic bottleneck in the population.
[ 8 ] reported a negative correlation between CH 4 production (mL/g OM) and TP, total tannins, and CT in Desmanthus and a highly significant correlation between HT and CH 4 production in vitro.
Due to this near-significant result in combination with the limited sample size of this analysis, it was decided to use the Kruskal–Wallis test and Wilcoxon Rank Sum test for this variable as well.
The relation between the development of the digestive system and the increase in wide of the fish (high PC2 value) could explain why the fish that had been fed with the diets with higher proportion of microalgae (R5 and H5) always had a higher PC2 value than the H2.5 and R2.5 fish at all sampling points, being this difference highly significant between H5 and H2.5 after 90 days of feeding.
The same analysis conducted only on the descriptors of the meows that had been correctly assigned to their context showed a clear trend of meows emitted during brushing to cluster on the left side of PC1, whereas meows emitted in the isolation context are scattered on the right side and those emitted while waiting for food are in an intermediate position, with a trend to cluster on the left ( Figure 3 a).
With regards to cats’ vocalizations, Nicastro and Owren [ 44 ] reported only a small gender effect that approached but did not reach significance; similarly, Tallet et al.
In all statistical analyses, p < 0.05 indicates significance and p < 0.10 and ≥ 0.05 indicate a tendency toward significance When multiple comparison tests were carried out for selected variables, the Bonferroni correction method was applied [ 30 ]. 3.
Nutrient Digestibility The effects of Natuzyme inclusion at different dose rates on nutrients’ apparent ileal digestibility were highly significant ( Table 7 ).
[ 36 ] emphasize that the effect of heat stress can suppress the expression of animals’ genetic potential, and reported that a random regression model showed a trend of higher heritability in the THI range corresponding to the comfort zone of cows, as found in the present study.
