These data are consistent with the in vitro observation that sulforaphane preferentially targeted cancer stem/progenitor cells instead of the bulk cell population and that the preference of sulforaphane for killing CSCs may be significant for chemoprevention.

Mutations of STAG2 and TP53 showed a trend for co-occurrence with a synergistic negative effect on prognosis when both mutations were present.

Since it is known that there may be significant differences in the kinetics of the expression of radiation-responsive genes, with some responding very early and others very late, we conducted dose-response experiments at various times after irradiation (1, 6, 24, 48 h).

Effects of Heat Stress on Yield-Related and Qualitative/Nutritional Traits Two-way ANOVA analysis showed that the effects of Genotype, Treatment and the Genotype × Treatment interactions are highly significant for the protein content of these grains ( Table 1 ).

For HaCaT cells, the beeswax remaining of waxed HaCaT cells exhibited a slightly increasing trend as comparing with waxed samples without arsenite exposure.

We further observed the effect of miR-218 on controlling the expression levels of REST by real-time PCR and Western blot, respectively, in H9C2 cells, and found that upregulation of miR-218 exhibited a decreasing trend in mRNA levels of REST ( Figure 3 C) and significantly inhibited REST expression in protein levels ( Figure 3 D).

We can see a slightly increasing trend of fitted birth weight for the two genes as the mother’s glucose level increases.

As shown in Figure 4 A, although no significant decrease in base respiration was detected in intact cells, H cells showed a trend towards decreased respiration function.
