Lastly, statistical analysis revealed a highly significant (MonteCarlo, P =0.00099) correlation between DEGs of normal ageing versus bcat-1 RNAi, suggesting a global functional relevance of BCAT-1 for the process of physiological ageing.
Statistical analysis Statistical analysis was calculated by Tukey’s post-hoc test with statistical significance assigned at ** P < 0.01 (moderately significant), *** P < 0.001 (highly significant).
Log-rank test confirmed a highly significant difference between the two groups ( p < 0.001) demonstrating clear separation of survival trajectories.
However, a small but highly significant reduction was observed in arc− neurons (8.0 ± 0.7 before KN93 to 7.4 ± 10.7 pA after KN93 [ n = 6], P = 0.001; n = 4 mice).
Statistical analysis was performed using Student’s t test with statistical significance assigned at ** p < 0.01 (moderately significant) and *** p < 0.001 (highly significant).
Using the categorization based on the three criteria, a highly significant percentage of the CNO-treated mice (50.0%) was considered addicted as compared to the control animals (16.7%, chi-square, P < 0.001, Fig. 3l ).
Across Britain, there has been a highly significant increase in the diversity of birds using garden bird feeders since the 1970s, according to Simpson’s Diversity Index ( F = 355.0, df = 3.52, p < 0.001; Fig. 2a ).
Considering all three conditions (Old, Novel, Scrambled) and only including RTs on correct trials, there was a highly significant main effect of distractor type ( F 2,78 = 28.1, p < 0.001).
In contrast to the highly significant ( P < 0.001) ANO1 current reduction (Fig. 4a ), SR Ca 2+ release was indistinguishable ( P > 0.05) from control scrambled siRNA expressing myotubes (Fig. 4b ), indicating that the observed ANO1 current reduction cannot be attributed to putative siRNA off-target effects hampering SR Ca 2+ release.
Among the total population sample, there was a significant trend for an increase in NVT carriage over the survey years in the rural site (Chi squared test for trend p < 0.001) and but not in the urban site (Chi squared test for trend p = 0.36).
The agreement between the classification based on both campaigns and each single campaign dataset was highly significant (99.3%, k = 0.991, p < 0.001 for the test, when the Baffin Bay was the training set and the Fram Strait dataset was predicted and 92.9% of agreement, k = 0.905, p < 0.001 when reversed, i.e., Fram Strait as training dataset and the Baffin Bay as predicted).
Statistical analysis was performed using the Student’s t -test with statistical significance assigned at * P < 0.05 (significant), ** P < 0.01 (moderately significant), *** P < 0.001 (highly significant), and **** P < 0.0001 (extremely significant).
We found a nominally significant gene-level association for CHRNB3 (gene P = 0.001; Supplementary Data 4 ).
As a representative of the most common alteration pattern we chose aconitase 2 (ACO2) which showed statistically highly significant ( p < 0.001, Mann–Whitney test) upregulation of the protein in PC vs BPH, as well as statistically highly significant ( p < 0.001, Mann–Whitney test) downregulation in CRPC vs PC (Fig. 5b ).
The prevalence of functional constipation showed an increasing trend from control, RBD-FDR, RBD to early PD patients (8.3 vs 9.4 vs 45.3 vs 69.4%, P value <0.001).
coli genes (Supplementary Table 4 ), a highly significant dependence of functionality on phylogenetic distance for cell-interacting proteins (Mann–Whitney U -test, P < 0.001), but no change for drug-interacting resistance mediators (Mann–Whitney U -test, P = 0.57), was observed.
We removed SNPs from the meta-analysis if they exhibited highly significant heterogeneity across studies (Cochran Q I 2 P -value ≤ 0.001), or co-located with CpG from the DNAm age predictors according to the Illumina annotation file for the Illumina Infinium 450K array.
By performing sensitive sequence analysis using the generalized profile method 12 , we found this structural similarity to be mirrored by a distant but highly significant sequence relationship ( p < 0.001) between these families.
When compared to the 3373 common targets of three B-ARRs, the percentage of overlap dropped to 35.4% which is still highly significant (Fig. 4b ; Fisher’s Exact Test p < 0.001).
