The association between hair zinc and height for age was not significant but did show a positive trend.
The association between hair zinc and height for age was not significant but did show a positive trend.
This association was borderline significant ( Table 4 ). 4.
In addition, the three CNV loci showed consistent results when the obese definition of the IOTF was applied: the deletions of 11q11 and 10q11.2 were significantly associated with obesity after FDR correction (both p < 0.05) and 4q25 showed marginal significance, with a p -value of 0.06 ( Supporting Information Table S2 ).
As shown in Table 4 , folate-deficient mice presented a decreasing trend in serum levels of P4 and E2 compared with normal mice.
Several recent epidemiological studies have indicated that the frequency of eating breakfast regularly has been gradually decreasing over time and that it follows a negative trend as a function of age [ 21 ].
In contrast to glucose levels, the triglyceride levels for all groups followed an increasing trend over time.
In support of the IPA prediction, Gene Ontology (GO) analysis revealed a clear enrichment for immune system related GO terms with immune system process and response to interferon-γ as the top highly significant GO terms associated with each data set.
Compared to patients on placebo, patients receiving Idebenone showed a trend for improvement of peak systolic radial strain in the left ventricular inferolateral wall, the region of the heart that is earliest and most severely affected in DMD.
Cr supplementation also induced a significant increase in half relaxation time (1⁄2 RT) in both mdx and normal mice and a highly significant increase in the total Ca 2+ content of the gastrocnemius muscle that was not observed in Cr-supplemented normal mice [ 81 ].
This kind of chelate also led to significant SOD activity increase in rats’ muscles and whole blood, showing an increasing trend in livers and visibly reduced the MDA content in rats’ livers, muscles, and whole blood, especially in the case of muscle and whole blood.
Although significant associations were all observed in case-control studies, the cohort studies still showed a slight trend.
Despite the variability in subject characteristics and treatment time, there was a highly significant correlation between daily polyphenol dose and relative change in FMD ( Figure 1 ).
However, the survey completed immediately before travel and overseas showed a trend for more placebo participants reporting significant symptoms than elderberry participants, a trend that approaches significance at least for the before travel survey.
The risk of obesity also decreased with a unit increase in the 25(OH)D level, but p- values for these associations showed borderline significance [ 46 ].
Differences and correlation coefficients were considered statistically significant if the p value was <0.05 and was highly significant if the p value was <0.01 (2-tailed). 3.
A trend towards significance was also found between total energy intake and sweetness intensity for all the other sweeteners as well.
It has been observed that, using this kind of methodology, there may be significant overestimation of actual use and understanding of labels [ 24 ].
The data shows a clear trend of decreasing UVB availability on moving from South to North within Europe, which would be predicted by the increasing SZA as one moves from ~35° N to ~69° N.
The oldest age group (55–70 years) had lower odds for consuming water than the younger participants (18–34 years) and there was a significant trend for less water consumption with increasing age.
The exclusion of the latter study reduced the borderline significance, while excluding the former in which 28 hypertriglyceridemic and 14 healthy individuals were included, the significance of the 8-h response changed, favoring MUFA meals.
The application of enteral nutrition can reverse the loss of gut mucosal integrity resulting from surgical trauma [ 16 ], and early enteral nutrition support is associated with a decreased infection risk, a reduced hospital stay, and a clear trend of a reduction in anastomotic breakdown [ 17 , 18 ].
Those SNPs showing significant (or near significance) associations in one of the obesity strata were selected for combination in the corresponding obesity-specific GRS (nobGRS and obGRS).
It had been proposed that insertion had no effect on the enzyme activity [ 109 ] and assessed on its own, its effect on Hcy is inconsistent: while some found no effect on Hcy [ 61 , 70 ], others showed a trend towards lower levels at least in specific subpopulations [ 59 , 60 , 66 , 89 , 110 ].
There might also be an interaction between the different genotypes: in non-Hispanic whites homozygous for MTHFR 677T, there was a significant trend towards lower Hcy levels with increasing numbers of copies of 66G, which was not the case for the 677CC or CT genotypes [ 66 ].
Non-significant and borderline significant results were shown relevant to the risk of cognitive impairment/decline (0.76 (0.50, 1.17)) and dementia (0.70 (0.48, 1.02)).
