The same 15 genes were also identified as highly significant by the Partek Alternative Splicing ANOVA algorithm, with 13 of them among the 30 most significant ones according to their p-values ( Supplementary Table S2 ) and, importantly, all 15 genes were differentially expressed ( Supplementary Table S1 ).

The hypergeometric P-values of the intersections between the networks appeared highly significant ( Table 1 ).

Using WGRS and SoySNP50K, both datasets pin-pointed a single and highly significant association for average SPAD ratio and LSS ( Supplementary Table S1A, B ) on Chr. 3 (40520215-40637459) ( Fig. 2 , Supplementary Fig. 2 ).

Similarly, the release of IFN-γ and IL-17A was reduced by treatment of the CD4 + T cell fraction, although not quite significant for IFN-γ ( Supplementary Fig.

In our studies, all three adjuvants with the ability to induce highly significant protection against TB, induced phenotypic profiles very similar to what was observed previously in humans with a substantial proportion of IL-2/TNF-α co-producers, most pronounced in the CAF01 group where app. 50% of the cells were of this phenotype.

Individual response of urinary RBP4 also shows a decreasing trend towards control values after AKI for those patients who recover ( Fig. 4B ).

While average KNG1 levels do not return to control values at discharge, there is a clear trend towards normalization in the case of RBP4 ( Fig. 2 ).

This may be significant since nitrite is a key source of nitric oxide, an important gasotransmitter in bacteria which has close relationship with oxidative stress and antibiotic resistance 30 , 31 .

Four different concentrations were used to perform terpene calibration curves, with correlations between signal and concentration always highly significant ( r 2 ≥ 0.99).

The top two global expression states (all zeros and all ones) have highly significant enrichment p-values in developmental genes and transcription factors.

Patients with CRP level >6 mg/L showed a trend for increased DKK-1 level, but mean DKK-1 level was still higher for patients with normal than increased CRP level (28.7 ± 13.9 vs 26.5 ± 11.7 pmol/L; P trend = 0.06) ( Fig. 3 ).

Additionally, the computational cost associated to such analysis may be significant.

This may be significant for the magnetoelectric effect 47 but the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya (DM) exchange interaction strength is found to be weak and its contribution to T N is very negligible for LFPO 44 48 .

However, if the differences among WT, P2X 2 −/− and P2X 3 −/− mice are as considerably significant as reported by Cockayne et al. , we should detect significant differences even using our small sample size.

The female subjects also showed a trend towards increased fat percentage and decreased SMM with aging.

Results Test 1: Chromatic background matching in free-ranging lizards The GLM reported a highly significant difference in chromatic background matching (JND) of P. erhardii backs between comparisons with chosen backgrounds and other lizards’ backgrounds on the same island, as perceived by avian predators (F 1,255 = 166.418, P < 0.001; Fig. 2 ).

At the segmented-leaf scale, leaf wax δD n -alkane values in Hierochloe glabra (a monocot) showed an increasing trend from base to the tip along the blade by 30‰ ( Fig. 2b , Supplementary Table S3 ), similar to a previous result obtained from three tall grasses ( Miscanthus sinensis , a monocot) 35 .

We found that both HIRZ and ROA showed a trend towards down regulation in crowding but this trend was not significant (HIRZ P = 0.513; ROA P = 0.465) ( Fig. 2 ).

Here, we demonstrated for the first time that the differentiation potential of MSCs was preserved even after exposure to high doses of cisplatin, and we did not find a general dose-dependent reduction of the differentiation capabilities: While the adipogenic differentiation was found to be reduced at least after treatment with high doses of cisplatin, MSCs showed a trend towards increased osteogenic differentiation after cisplatin treatment.

The CEC ratio in placebo group exhibited an increasing trend whereas that in LC group declined.

In the second study, five AAs were differentially expressed in three groups, lean, obese, and obese with diabetes, with an increasing trend (i.e., HL < OW/OB < DM).

It is apparent that γ < 2 with a clear trend in which γ approaches 0.2 as the system approaches the exponentially localized state.

The method described here may be significant for the development of microparticle-based applications such as self-assembled materials 1 2 3 , self-propelled micromotors 4 5 6 7 , drug delivery systems 8 9 , and environmental engineering 10 .
