Sensitivity analyses using alterative exacerbation frequency thresholds (< 2 vs ≥ 2 and < 4 vs ≥ 4 per year) to define low-risk vs high-risk groups revealed that the association between sensitization responses to any of rAsp f 12, 15, or 17 with severe (hospitalized) exacerbations remained significant for the < 4 cutoff and a trend toward significance with < 2, indicating that the predefined < 3 cutoff best discriminated the risk groups.
