Ethnic associations with stroke diagnoses were more variable: Compared to White patients, we found excess hazards for South Asian patients for ischaemic stroke (HR 1.29 (1.03–1.62)) and excess hazards approaching significance for Black patients for both ischaemic stroke (1.24 (0.97–1.58)) and intracerebral haemorrhage (1.44 (0.97–2.12)).
There was a trend for women whose circumstances improved between her first and second births to have increased odds of having a third birth (OR 2.010, P = 0.057) ( Table 1 ). Although only approaching significance, we take this as indicating hypothesis b is at least worth exploring.

Consistent with this, FVB/n mice possessed a lower proportion (approaching significance) of CD71 (+) i.c.TCRβ (+) proliferating DN3 cells 18 (Fig. 2C ), that expressed significantly lower levels of CD5 (Fig. 2D ), a recognised marker of TCR signal strength 19 , than similar cells from C57BL/6 mice, suggesting that inefficient β-selection may be due to weak preTCR signalling in FVB/n animals.
The simple slopes analysis for each Group revealed a significant relationship between greater right-frontal beta and lower Sad intensity ratings for good sleepers, b = −0.98, t = −3.03, p = 0.006, but a positive relationship between right-frontal beta and Sad intensity ratings approaching significance for the insomnia group, b = 0.42, t = 2.04, p = 0.053. 4.
