Nevertheless, when we relaxed the P -value cut-off in the training dataset to 0.5, the Swedish ER-positive breast cancer target dataset showed borderline significance for a shared polygenic component with ER-positive breast cancer, based on the Finnish ER-positive training dataset (Figure 10a , P = 0.066).
Surprisingly, HTLV-1 (+) individuals presented higher median trunk extension values than HTLV-1 (−) individuals in all models ( p < 0.01) ( Table 3 ). A separate comparison of trunk flexion between the TSP/HAM group and HTLV-1 (+) individuals revealed lower values (-17.63; 95% CI: -35.75/0.48; p = 0.056) with borderline significance in the former group, which were not significant after adjusting for confounders (-18.10; 95% CI: -37.43/1.23; p = 0.066).
This association was at a borderline significance in HER2-positive [75.0% (3/4) vs. 12.5% (1/8), p = 0.066] cancer and not significant in luminal A [22.7% (5/22) vs. 10.0% (3/30), p = 0.259], luminal B [21.1% (4/19) vs. 6.7% (2/30), p = 0.189], and triple-negative [40.0% (2/5) vs. 11.8% (2/17), p = 0.209] cancers.
In the multivariable analysis, there was a significant association between ACS, an unfavorable outcome (adjusted odds ratio [aOR] = 3.43, p = 0.027) and a borderline significance with cerebral infarcts (aOR = 2.5, p = 0.066).
Gender showed borderline significance in the adjusted model ( p = 0.066), while age and smoking status were not significant predictors.
