Although total SCFA levels were not reported, there was a statistically significant increase in plasma isobutyrate and isovalerate levels (and a near-significant increase in plasma butyrate levels) following the omega-3 PUFA intervention, which mirrored findings in the inulin intervention group (Vijay et al., 2021 ).
The RR further increased to 1.80 (95% CI: 0.94, 3.45) for those living within 100 m of a drainage path and with household food animals compared to those >500 m from a drainage path and without household food animals; this interaction was near-significant with an interaction P -value of 0.108 (RERI: 0.85; 95% CI: −0.10, 1.81) ( Table 5 ).
Following FDR correction, we identified multiple near-significant and significant associations ( q < 0.25 and 0.1, respectively; Extended Data Fig. 9b,c and Methods ), particularly when evaluating features from the immune activation/exhaustion and wound healing clusters (dedifferentiated TI-1 in PD-L1 TPS ≤ 1% q = 0.23; immune-activated M-2 in PD-L1 TPS ≤ 1% q = 0.16; macrophage/monocytes in PD-L1 TPS ≥ 50% q = 0.06; hMono3 in PD-L1 TPS ≥ 50% q = 0.11).
The near-significant correlation between walking speed and alternation rate is the first suggestion in the literature that binocular rivalry may be impacted by walking speed, indicating a potential impact of motor behavior on visual perception Prior research has reported that retinal image motion could cause binocular rivalry alternations [ 24 ].
The near-significant tendency for higher fat digestibility in canola-oil diets is also mechanistically coherent, as lipid digestion relies on emulsification, micelle formation, and bile–lipase dynamics that vary with fatty-acid profile and can become more limiting during enteric insults ( Oketch et al., 2023 ).
