Factors entered in the MVA were significant or of borderline significance in univariate analysis.

38 39 On the other hand, the subgroup analysis is based on a comparison between trials; it is not robust across statistical analyses (the effect did not appear in the univariable analysis but only in the meta-regression, and the meta-regression is at high risk of over-fitting—six trials account for 92.5% of the weight), and was not prespecified; the apparent reduction in mortality with GLP-1 is both small and of borderline significance.

Adding deprivation to this model (model G) did not significantly improve the fit, although the test for trend was of borderline significance.

The SNPs most strongly associated with either systolic or diastolic BP were of borderline significance and none have been reported as associated with BP in previous BP GWASs.

GDF15 was of borderline significance.

Gamba et al 26 note the highest proportion of significant findings in the expected direction among studies examining presence of food stores (vs proximity or density), the approach we have used; however, significant findings were noted to be commonly quite small and of borderline significance.
