As shown in Table 4 , we found that the conversion of two pre-NAC biomarker profiles, HR+HER2– ( n = 14) and HR+HER2+ ( n = 1), to TNBC was associated with worse disease-free survival, with respective hazard ratios of 2.23 (95 % CI, 0.90–5.53; p = 0.08, trending towards significance) and 36.7 (95 % CI, 2.2–610.8; p = 0.01).

The only gender-related difference trending towards significance (Mann–Whitney p = 0.08) was found for Valence in 2D, with more positive self-assessment of the component in men compared to women.

Interestingly, the interaction of distance and treatment group was trending towards significance; given the sample size, it is unclear whether there is a true lack of an interaction effect or if this is due to the sample size (F(7.29, 38.88) = 2.00; p = 0.08).

The mean observed number of ASVs per participant was 210 for IBD-EIM ( n = 86) and 240 for IBD-C ( n = 45), which was trending towards significance ( t -test; p = .08).

In the anatomic lung resection group (lobectomy, segmentectomy, and bilobectomy), there was reduction in mean LOS that was trending towards significance in (5.8 vs. 5.0, P=0.08).

We perform the same analysis with dichotomous and continuous scores as detailed above to validate our CETP genetic score, finding that our SGLT2 score is associated with decreased glycated hemoglobin (dichotomized: p=0.0000426; continuous: p=0.000044), but increased systolic blood pressure (dichotomized: p=0.0116; continuous: p=0.00149) with increased BMI trending towards significance (dichotomized: p=0.172; continuous: p=0.0708) ( Figures 1C, D ; Supplementary Table 5 ).

Relaxing tracks did not significantly reduce pain intensity compared to their controls, however the effect on pain unpleasantness was trending towards significance when compared to scrambled music [MD = −2.51, t (55.4) = −1.34, p = 0.19] and silence [MD = −3.17, t (55.6) = −1.84, p = 0.071].

The effect of time on belief in free will controlling for political orientation was trending towards significance in Study 1 (p = .190) and reduced to marginal significance in Study 2 (p = .061).
