Analysis of the recommended drugs along the lines of therapy, together with those undergoing clinical trials, displays an interesting trend ( Figure 4 ).

While a previous study of patients with breast cancer and bone metastases showed that BESM patients had a numerical trend for persistently higher uNTX levels and an erratic uNTX variation during ZA treatment [ 20 ], in the present cohort bone markers did not differ according to metastatic compartment both at baseline and at 3 months.

Interestingly, both melanoma cell lines showed a trend to higher metabolic activity in ADA–GEL and HA-SH than mammary carcinoma cells during long-term cultivation (>7 days).

MCF-7 showed an overall trend for the highest apoptotic and necrotic rates.

A large, prospective, population based-study demonstrated a highly significant association between carriage of Porphyromonas gingivalis ( P. gingivalis ), and the risk of pancreatic cancer development [ 4 ].

In normoxia, MCF7-miR526b and MCF7-miR655 cell lines show an extremely significant upregulation of HIF-1α gene expression compared to MCF7 ( Figure 1 B) and SKBR3-miR526b cells showed an extremely significant increase in HIF-1α gene expression compared to SKBR3 ( Figure 1 C). 2.1.2.

On the other hand, there is a strong trend to discriminate malignant cells from the healthy ones by adjusting the threshold for CAR-T cell activation.

For TNBC, CD20-low, CD8-high identified a statistically significant poor prognostic group, with double-low status not quite significant.

Objective and significant risk factors for radiation dermatitis were the breast volume and the applied irradiation technique; a boost radiotherapy administration also showed a trend towards a slightly more severe radiation dermatitis.

Indeed, we observed in our cohort that mutations in PTEN and EGFR are enriched in the PD group (24.5% and 13.3%) compared to the SD+PR group (10% and 0%), although only the difference for EGFR is borderline significant.

CTLA4 (p = 0.077) and LAG3 (p = 0.066) showed a borderline significance. 3.3.

A resection margin of <1 mm showed a trend but not significantly better LRFS or OS compared to a contaminated margin.

Even if not significant, mutations in CDH8 and XRCC6 showed a positive trend of association with the biph-MPM subset.

Relapse or persistent disease after two years showed a trend toward improvement at 15.6% for NAC vs. 19.5% for adjuvant chemotherapy, but did not meet statistical significance (HR = 0.76, 95% confidence interval (CI 0.56–1.02; p = 0.07).

154 of these 155 proteins were also measured in the replication cohort and among these 154 proteins, 92.2% (142/154) were nominally significant also in the replication cohort ( Table 1 ) and 85.1% (131/154) remained significant after multiple hypothesis correction ( Table S2 ).

Low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol showed a trend to increase, but we did not observe any significant change either after 6 months (135 mg/dL (65–205) at baseline vs. 157 uUI/mL (85−293) at 6 months, p = 0.13), or during the whole observation period ( Figure 5 ).

The CNA burden of single CTCs of TNBC ( n = 26) and non-TNBC ( n = 23) patients did not differ significantly ( p = 0.18), although the violin plots showed a trend of heterogeneity in terms of the CNA burden ( Figure 1 ).

Compared to S-GCTs, bifocal tumors were almost exclusively male, exhibited higher rate of metastasis, and had worse rates of progression free and overall survival trending toward significance.

Ki-67 staining showed a trend towards reduced cell proliferation in the high BCL-2 expressing CRC0076 PDXs upon ABT-199 treatment.

Our data suggest a numerical trend towards decreased cell proliferation (Ki-67 staining) in CRC0076 (which expresses high levels of BCL-2) following ABT-199 treatment ( Figure S5 ). 2.3.

Further studies highlighted the significant association of hMSH3 mutations with the development of leukoplakia and its progression to OSCC and that a decreasing trend in MMR expression can be detected when testing non-dysplastic samples and oral preneoplastic lesions with progressively increasing severity [ 61 , 65 ].

A trend toward significance was found between high GII and CTH, an association already reported [ 49 , 52 ].

As shown in Table 3 , the positive associations of dietary acid load with depression were statistically significant for PRAL and marginally significant for NEAP when we compared differences between the extreme quartiles of PRAL.

Adverse Events Comparing adverse events other than neurological deficits (see clinical outcomes), we identified a clear trend toward higher postoperative complication rates—especially for SDH and EDH—in lateral approaches.

We also observed a nearly significant enrichment of KRAS mutation in patients harboring at least one mucin gene alteration.
