Such a problem was reflected, for instance, in the possible role of HBV and HPV, in the development of CRC, based on the colorectal tissues: the former had a highly significant association but only one publication supported it, and the latter had an association just above significance, but was substantiated by 11 publications.
Excerpts
The subgroup analysis between the HCC recurrence as per the year of the study’s completion revealed a decreasing trend; however, it was not statistically significant. 3.3.
Although a considerable proportion of HIR patients still received EBRT ± VBT in earlier times, a significant trend of the increasing VBT utilization rate was observed.
Table 8 shows that among CS1 cases, there was a significant trend towards decreasing frequencies of cases with increasing tumour size, and an inverse trend was seen in stages with metastases ( p < 0.0001; Cochran–Armitage trend test).
We observed that the mean zinc levels were lower in the urine of cancer patients than in healthy subjects, with a decreasing trend in correlation with the progression of the disease.
There was also a suggestive trend of inverse association between a higher maximum BMI in a female’s adulthood and OS.
After excluding the first year of follow-up, a decreasing trend in SIR with increasing time since first primary CRC was found for all cancers (SIR 1,18; 95% CI 1.07–1.30; SIR 0.88; 95% CI 0.80–0.95; SIR 0.82; 95% CI 0.75–0.89 for 1–4, 5–9 and 10 or more years since first primary, respectively; p -trend < 0.001), A decreasing trend in SIR was also found for lung cancer ( p < 0.001), stomach cancer ( p = 0.001), ovarian cancer ( p = 0.003), CRC ( p = 0.003), liver cancer ( p = 0.004), kidney cancer ( p = 0.01) and bladder cancer ( p = 0.04).
The overall higher SIR was, nevertheless, due to few specific cancer types, including ovary, kidney, endometrial and bladder cancer, and stomach cancer with borderline significant increase.
When looking at Table 4 , however, some exceptions can be noticed: breast and prostate cancer showed no trend, consistent with the fact that they did not turn out to be associated to CRC as FPC; thyroid cancer also lacks a significant trend, likely due to the small number of cases included in the study; endometrial cancer was the only cancer type which showed to be at an increased risk with a constant trend in time.
an obvious trendgold
As depicted in Figure 6 A,B, the mice treated with UM-164 showed an obvious trend of persistent atrophy compared with the control group, and the effect of the 10 mg/kg group was superior to that of the 5 mg/mL group.
The results even showed a trend towards inferiority in the surgery group (median OS was 16.6 months in patients without versus 14.3 months in patients with gastrectomy).
In the multivariate analysis of distant metastasis, we found that metastases were diagnosed significantly less frequently in pT3a carcinomas than in pT3b,c, while they occurred almost significantly more frequently in pT3d carcinomas.
Patients with ECOG PS 0 and EQD2 of ≥ 80 GyE 10 showed a trend toward higher PFS rates than those with ECOG PS 1–2 and EQD2 of < 80 GyE 10 with no statistical significance ( p > 0.05 each) ( Table 2 ) ( Figure S3B ).
In the IMspire150 study, triple therapy showed a significantly better PFS in patients with elevated LDH as well as a numerical trend towards better outcomes in patients with a high tumor mutational burden [ 30 ].
Although the prevalence of ESCC is always high, recent years have witnessed an increasing trend of EAC in the United States of America (USA) and other Western countries [ 6 , 7 ].
A larger difference was apparent after 96 h, when the numbers in the unsorted sample rose to about 17.8%, whereas the numbers in the CD34 − OV-6 − sample only rose to 10.5% on average. 3.3.
Again, we should caution that the basal Y118 signal in LNCaP cell was very weak to begin with, and that the decrease in signal quantitated on the right ( Figure 3 C, left panel), despite its annotation as moderately significant, should be considered in the context of whether a “weak signal” becoming “negligible” can be taken as a possible indication of biological significance for motility.
Their data included all populations with or without treatment, and the difference was apparent among BDC locations.
In the samples from the two groups in which the high dose rate SIBs were administered early in the radiotherapy schedule, highly significant differences are seen between each of the three irradiation schedules (low dose rate only, MBI SIB + low dose rate and PBI SIB plus low dose rate). 4.
Although an increasing trend has been observed in the use of an ICG fluorescence-guided system for hepatoblastoma (HB) surgery, studies involving a larger cohort of children is still lacking, which indicates a limitation in the application of ICG for pediatric HB surgery.
a negative trendgold
Conclusions Given the unprecedented impact of the COVID-19 on the healthcare systems around the world, a negative trend in the delay of diagnosis and treatment of bone neoplasms seems inevitable.
Regarding mice survival, the results showed a trend of 10 or 20 mg/kg of Ac 5 3F ax Neu5Ac administration to increase median mice survival time, although it was not statistically significant ( Figure 5 e). 3.6.
The percentage of myeloid regulatory cells (granulocytes and monocytes) in the 10 mg/kg group showed an increasing trend, while the percentage of B cells and macrophages remained unaltered in that group with respect to the control one ( Figure 6 h–k).
In ACC ( Figure 5 A), COAD ( Figure 5 B), ESCA ( Figure 5 C), TGCT ( Figure 5 D) and UVM ( Figure 5 E), the expression of SOX11 showed an increasing trend with increasing tumor stage.
In the COU-AA trial of prednisone alone or in combination with abiraterone, there was a small increase in abnormal liver function tests, with the number of patients with increased AST and ALT doubling from, respectively, 5% and 4.8% of patients with prednisone alone to 13.3% and 12% in patients with prednisone and abiraterone, albeit this involved a small number of patients and the effect was not quite significant [ 140 , 141 ].
