Strikingly, we found a highly significant decrease in NK cells in autistic children compared to HC.

However, CXCL10, another chemokine implicated in cell migration and COVID-19 severity, exhibited an increasing trend; this change was not statistically significant ( Figure 4E ).

Across all four selected perioperative checkpoints shown in Table 2 , class differences were highly significant for absolute lymphocyte count, NLR, IL-6, monocyte HLA-DR, CRP, CD4/CD8 ratio, and albumin.

In NSCLC, CD4 + Tcm cell frequencies show an increasing trend ( 80 ), and elevated frequencies of CD8 + Tcm and Tem cells have also been reported ( 18 ); similarly, increased CD8 + Tcm and Tem subsets have been described in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma ( 81 , 82 ).

Medication exposure is also likely to be significant.

IL-15 and IL-2 increase LIR-1 on purified NK cells In our donors we observed a slight trend toward increased surface expression of LIR-1, on NK cells treated with IL-15 in PBL cultures though largely not statistically significant (Table 1 ).
