1C , % BV/TV, 96% ± 30, p < 0.05) and showed a trend towards, reduced osteoclast number (Fig. 1D , Oc.N/BS, left panel) and activity (Fig. 1D , Oc.S/BS, right panel) and increased osteoblast number (Fig. 1E Ob.N/BS, left panel) and active surface (Fig. 1E , Ob.S/BS, right panel).

While bacterial counts obtained from lung homogenates were comparable at 24 and 48 hpi, we observed a slight trend to recover higher WT bacterial numbers from elastase-treated mice at 12 and 30 hpi (Fig. 5B ).

The total length of all timeseries became 33 × 240 years, implying for inter-annual variations a lower bound of 2638 degrees of freedom for significance tests, and for decadal variations a lower bound of 607 degrees of freedom (we are not interested to determine the exact significance bound which has to be estimated by a suite of Monte Carlo simulations, as all relevant results are clearly significant and supported by physical understanding).
performed linear regression analysis of compliance values and patency rates of various biological and prosthetic grafts, demonstrating a highly significant correlation between compliance mismatch and graft patency decrease 28 .
Graur reported a highly significant correlation between the nonsynonymous substitution rate ( Ka ) and amino acid composition in mammalian proteins ( R 2 : ~0.38), and thus he proposed that composition and changeability of amino acids are the main factor determining evolutionary rate rather than other factors such as functionality 11 .

MSA with crural closure), there was a clear trend of crural closure resulting in superior reflux control and gastrointestinal symptom relief without increasing dysphagia rates.
Catalytic efficiency tests on purified human HDHD1 enzymes suggest that it is substrate specific 27 , in which case the difference seen in Gs1l splices may be significant enough to give it different functionality or efficiency.
For cue-locked P1 we found an amplitude increase with the information power of the cue (significant increases from center cue, to double cue and spatial cue, and approaching significance between double and spatial cues).
When we corrected our analyses for sex and litter size, the reduced postnatal weight gain of prenatally CS-exposed animals remained highly significant (mean −6.7 mg/d, 95%-CI [4.0, 9.4]).
In contrast, in the PP, the infected control (C-IF) and the groups in which IL-23 was neutralized, infected or not infected (AB-IF and AB-C), showed highly significant levels with respect to the control group (C).
However, at 48 hpi, the accumulation of H 2 O 2 showed a decreasing trend.
Unfortunately, the difference was of borderline significance which was most likely owing to relative small number of cases in both groups.
However, patients treated with Ada showed a trend towards more activated T cells (median 26.5%, IQR 14.4–33.6% for CD4 + and median 12.5%, IQR 6.9–18.3% for CD8 + ) as compared to those treated with Eta (median 14.6%, IQR 7–27.2% for CD4 + and median 4.8%, IQR 2.5–13.9% for CD8 + ) (p = 0.16 for CD4 + and p = 0.25 for CD8 + ; Fig. 2c ).
The c parameter increased in a linear manner with increasing E -field, whereas the a parameter decreased straightforwardly, but also showed a trend toward saturation at higher E -fields.
The permutation test results (p < 0.001, Figure S1D ) for the model validation indicated that the model was highly significant.
Interestingly, the overall performance continues to improve between and within the S 2 and RET (main effects of session and trial) and the marginal significance for the interaction of group × trial is an indication for a possible within-session gain associate with the spaced training.
No other significant change was observed for the factors associated with the trials, but the interaction of group × trial was very close to the level of significance for the tilt angle in two-dimensional space (Table 1 : column 5, row 1).
The sway area was marginally significant (Table 1 : column 1, row 10; Fig. 3d ), and no significant changes between the groups were observed for all the structure-related parameters (Table 1 : column 1, row 12; Table 2 : column 1, rows 14, 15; Fig. 4a–e ).
The distinction of the fully marine and coastal habitats is not recovered using the entire bony labyrinth, while all the habitats can be separated based on the shape of the cochlea only (all p-values are significant to highly significant; see Supplementary data 3 ).
That said, although for bands in the 32 and 68 kDa (clusters 4 and 6) a number of AEBSF-sensitive labelled bands appeared to differ between the CD and UC-derived samples, the difference in the activity index did not quite reach statistical significance (Fig. 3C ).
9(a) , we observe a decreasing trend of Q SC / Q RC with a change in the power-law index from 0.7 to 1.5, for d = 0.2 and d = 0.3, attributed primarily to the effect of the change in the fluid rheology from shear-thinning ( n < 1) to the shear-thickening behavior of the fluid ( n > 1).
Notably, a relatively lesser reduction in flow rate through soft nanochannel ( Q SC ) than the rigid channel ( Q RC ) leads to an increasing trend of Q SC / Q RC in the shear-thinning regime ( n < 1) as witnessed in Fig. 9(b) .

However, there is a slight trend towards overestimated emitter numbers for many emitters, which can be traced back to the range of values of the second-order correlation function that corresponds to a certain emitter number becoming smaller when placing more emitters.
X-ray diffraction results showed a trend in the crystalline phases present in the films.
Discussion In this study, we assembled a streamlined computational network analysis pipeline to investigate the system-level coordinated changes across differentially activated genes rather than simply focusing on differential transcript abundance of individual genes, and to detect subtle processes that are not likely to be revealed by examining a small list of highly significant genes in this host-pathogen interaction.
