Our results demonstrate that different metabolites involved in the purine metabolism (urea and xanthine) increased with the severity stage, but others do not follow a clear trend (inosine).

We observed this metabolite as significantly increased in mild disease (p-val = 0.021) and deceased (p-val = 0.001) groups, and almost significantly increased in the severe disease group (p-val = 0.057).
