An increase in photocurrent was observed with an increasing amount of cells, reaching a maximum photocurrent response when a concentration of 3.0×10 6 cells mL –1 was used for electrode modification. This amount was selected as the optimum for biophotoelectrode fabrication. For higher concentrations, a decreasing trend in photocurrent response was observed, most likely due to a blocking of the electrode surface at high cell loadings, preventing a sufficient and homogeneous arrival of light to other immobilized cells and the underlying semiconductor/PDA material, consequently leading to a decrease in photocurrent.
The broad-sense heritability of the extracted traits exhibited different trends across the growth stages: (i) ST, IH, and FS had a gradually increased broad-sense heritability over time, (ii) LS and LIA had a decreasing trend, and (iii) TLA showed fluctuations (i.e. an M-shaped pattern) of the broad-sense heritability throughout the growth period.
