In one small human trial involving 28 patients with acute coronary syndrome, seven once weekly treatments resulted in a numerical trend towards a decrease in atheroma volume compared to baseline [ 47 ].

The ANOVA gave a p value of 0.054 indicating that, although there was a numerical trend towards lower tensile strength for 10 and 20% substitution cements, there was no statistically significant difference between these values and those of the other GICs.

The OS analysis suggested a numerical trend in favor of 500mg over 250mg despite the lack of a statistically significant difference ( 9 ).

In evaluating the ability of a wireless motility capsule to detect pharmacologic effects on gastric contractility, we found a numerical trend towards an increased number of contractions after administration of erythromycin and a decreased frequency of gastric contractions with the administration of morphine, particularly using 20 mmHg above baseline as the contraction threshold.

Based on effect sizes, a numerical trend toward greater efficacy was also observed on each of the newly defined subscales in rivastigmine-treated patients compared with placebo.

There was a numerical trend for increased p38 MAPK activation in macrophages cultured for 60 min compared to 16 h, but this did not reach statistical significance (p = 0.1).

In addition, there was a numerical trend toward lower accuracy for word trials than nonword trials, although this difference did not reach significance.

Also, although there were no significant differences between groups in terms of age or IQ, there was a numerical trend toward increasing age and IQ in the MDD group.

When this more strict definition of bleeding was used, there was still a numerical trend towards a higher risk in Malmö, but the difference lost statistical significance; a type II statistical error cannot be excluded.

A numerical trend was observed for the slightly superior polyp detection rate in the 4 L PEG group.

CDP6M was also significantly reduced for PEG-IFN Q2W versus IFN beta-1a 30 μg (HR 0.46 [95% CI: 0.226-0.943]), with a numerical trend favoring PEG-IFN Q2W versus other IFNs assessed for ARR, and versus all other injectables for CDP6M.

The biomarker data suggest a numerical trend toward higher efficacy at the high dose versus the low dose.

Although the sample size for the 2 subpopulations was not balanced and data must be interpreted cautiously, it appears that the treatment effect is similar in the mono- and polysensitized subpopulations, with a numerical trend of a greater treatment effect in polysensitized subjects.

Overall, and for both ethnicities, there was a numerical trend towards a greater treatment effect with lixisenatide QD compared with lixisenatide BID.

Finally, there was a numerical trend for a correlation between CRT score and salary.

When variability in staining intensity was explored by IHC category, patients with IHC 2+ and IHC 3+ scores showed a treatment benefit regardless of variability, with a numerical trend toward greater benefit in patients with >30 % cells stained.

Although data showed a significant reduction in BML size at 6 months, and a numerical trend towards a reduction at 12 months, the cartilage volume and cartilage loss were not assessed [ 23 ].

Although a numerical trend indicated that the ear contralateral to the lesion scored more poorly than the ear ipsilateral to the lesion did, this difference did not reach statistical significance ( Table 3 ).

Post hoc analyses by patient subgroups At week 28, patients stratified by prior and non-prior anti-TNF use showed similar ACR20, ACR50 and ACR70 response rates in the placebo → CZP and CZP → CZP groups, although there was a numerical trend for slightly higher response rates in the anti-TNF naïve patients (Fig. 3a ).

Although not significant, there was a numerical trend toward bilinguals responding more slowly than other groups (particularly, musicians and bilingual musicians).

This may be because, as in our previous MEG study [ 51 ], this region showed a numerical trend towards a relatedness effect in the lower predictive validity blocks, perhaps reflecting weaker semantic facilitation (see also [ 24 ]).

Although we did find a numerical trend toward the risk of common infections in GG patients, this trend was surprisingly weak both in terms of infections of non-gastrointestinal organs and in terms of CD-specific infections ( Table 3 ).

In summary, all these analyses taken together indicate no more than a numerical trend for RSC-lesioned monkeys to make more errors in new learning.

Shorter dosing interval regimens of denosumab showed a numerical trend for better inhibition of bone destruction, while significant differences among denosumab groups were not confirmed.
