Subanalysis of COPD exacerbations by severity of airflow obstruction according to NICE criteria at baseline also showed a numerical trend towards lower incidence in the tiotropium group compared with placebo across severity categories (Table 5 ).

Although fixed-dose clinical trials did not show a statistically significant treatment effect difference between 75 mg and 225 mg per day, there was a numerical trend suggesting possible superiority of higher doses, which is often seen in clinical practice.

The amplitude pattern for the early effect resembled that found in our previous fMRI study, in that it was found for both familiar and unfamiliar faces, though there was a significant modulation by view (with greater deflections for same than different views, at least for familiar faces), which was only a numerical trend in our fMRI data.

We found a numerical trend for this effect in our own data.

Response criterion (β) showed a numerical trend toward a more stringent criterion in the high load condition ( M = 14.1) than in the low load condition ( M = 7.7), but this was not significant, F (1, 20) = 2.69, MSE = 83.50, p = .117, η p 2 = .119.

Patients receiving Bravelle ® had a numerical trend towards higher chemical, clinical, continuing pregnancy rates as well as live birth rates (Figure 2 ), but the results did not attain statistical significance.

There was a numerical trend toward delayed appearance of hindlimb grasping and decreased total daily qualitative score (comprising all seven reflex measures including hind limb grasping) ( Venerosi et al. 2009 ).

Although there was a numerical trend towards higher mortality in the solid- than in the hollow-stemmed host, the main host factor (individual cultivar or solid stemmed cultivars pooled) effect and its interaction with exposure were not significant ( Figure 3 ).

In fact, if anything, there was a numerical trend in the opposite direction to that predicted by lexical entropy accounts, i.e., greater GFP for trained day 2 versus trained day 1 (and versus untrained) conditions.

Thus, in IBD, both men and women had similar disease severity as measured by the HBI at the start of biologic therapy, but there was a numerical trend suggesting that female patients experience more symptoms.

A numerical trend in favor of NVA237 on Day 1 was also observed for leg discomfort.

Regarding donor gender, a numerical trend towards higher NGAL values for allografts from female donors became apparent at 6 months after transplantation.

In addition, Experiment 2 revealed more enduring disruption to processing for younger children following their initial syntactic misanalysis: younger children showed a reliable effect of closure in total reading times in the post-target region while older children and adults did not (although older children showed a numerical trend).

For other endpoints, the differences between the treatment groups at week 24 were mostly not statistically significant and/or small, but with a numerical trend towards superiority of the add-on strategy.

It is also notable that in the first experiment there is a numerical trend toward an influence of orientation on fixation duration.

These differences, while displaying a numerical trend, were not statistically significant (Graphic 2 in Additional file 1 ; Figure 4 ).

None of these differences were significant; there was a numerical trend to a slightly larger loss (by 1.2 units in the CIDD) during deflazacort treatment compared to placebo (Figure 3 a; change between start and end of pooled crossover periods: deflazacort: d = −2.24; standard deviation (SD) = 3.0; placebo: d = −1.00, SD = 2.2; mixed model result (ITT): p(treatment) = 0.1558; 95% confidence interval [−3.01; 0.52] in disfavor of deflazacort; non-parametric analysis (PP): p = 0.4375).

There was a numerical trend for RVF items to be recognized more than LVF items but this difference did not reach significance [ F (1,21) = 2.06], nor did VF interact with cloze bins [ F (2,42) = 0.13].

There was a numerical trend for higher betting scores in the double-response group than in the control group, which would be consistent with a depletion account; however, the difference was not significant ( p = .29).

There seems to be a numerical trend of interference, but the effect of Interference wasn't significant ( p > 0.2) (licensed 434 ms; unlicensed 480 ms; interference 458 ms).
