A linear regression analysis suggested that there was only a marginal effect of the proportion of EZH2-expressing tumor cells on the crude disease-free survival of young patients, with borderline significance (F(1,66) = 3.95, p = 0.05, with an R 2 = 0.06 and a regression coefficient of −0.4); thus, the one percent increase in the proportion of EZH2-expressing cells might be related to a 0.4-month decrease in the predicted DFS with great scatter in the data.
Second, the small sample size (n = 8) and predominance of female patients limit statistical power for detecting small-to-moderate effects, increasing the likelihood of type II error for findings with borderline significance ( p = 0.050–0.058).
Both IL-35 and TGF-β levels were elevated in patients with severe exophthalmos (7.42 ± 7.68 pg/mL and 177.65 ± 93.92 pg/mL, respectively), with statistically significant differences for IL-35 ( P = .03 ) and borderline significance for TGF-β ( P = .05 ).
EFS at 2 years showed borderline significance (RR 1.18, 95% CI: 1.00–1.38; p = 0.05) and 5 years follow-up (RR 1.11, 95% CI: 1.01–1.24; p = 0.04) were significantly higher in Busulfan–Fludarabine, though 1-year EFS was not significantly different between the two groups (RR 1.10, 95% CI: 0.97–1.25; p = 0.15) (Table S3).
Hepcidin levels were decreased after 12 weeks of roxadustat administration, with borderline significance in the entire cohort {140.2 ng/ml [interquartile range (IQR) 85.2–194.4] versus 110.5 ng/ml [IQR 46.1–167.1], P = .050} (Table 1 ).
Smoking showed borderline significance ( p = 0.05), with male MD patients smoking less frequently (24.4%) than male controls (35.4%).
While most sensitivity analyses demonstrated a consistent association between female sex and 1-year mortality, the analysis using SMRW showed a borderline significance ( p = 0.050), indicating that the evidence for this association is not as robust in that specific model.
There was no significant difference found for SBP ( p = 0.712) and borderline significance for the DBP ( p = 0.050) between the groups.
A negative correlation was observed for eHbA1c and total daily and mild hypoglycemic events (r=−0.57 and r=−0.66, respectively, p<0.0001), whereas for serious hypoglycemic events there was only a borderline significance (r=−0.13, p=0.05).
The OS in HCC patients with higher expression of Globo H (mean: 89.9, 95% CI: 77.3–102.5 months) was also shorter than those with lower expression of Globo H, albeit with borderline significance (mean: 112.3, 95% CI: 105.7–118.9 months; p = 0.05) [ Fig. 2 B].
Healthy nonsmokers exhibited the highest cumulative number of unique reads among all study groups ( Figure 1 D), with a borderline significance ( p = 0.05) compared to healthy smokers.
In multivariable logistic regression analysis, SUVmax remained independently associated with grade 3 [odds ratio (OR) 1.25, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.13–1.38, P<0.001], whereas 3D-CTR showed only borderline significance (OR 1.01, 95% CI: 1.00–1.02, P=0.050).
However, when adjusting for covariates, none of the cohorts of interest were associated with having a statistically significant difference in ADL difficulty, although borderline significance was seen for having stage III/IV difficulty when comparing nAMD vs control (OR, 0.74; 95% CI, 0.54-1.00; P < .05) ( Figure 2 ).
A meta-analysis showed that p53 overexpression was more frequent among the patients compared to the control group, although only with borderline significance (OR 7.99; 95% CI 0.97–65.92; p = 0.05) ( Figure 10 ).
In asthma ( Figure 2B ), both neutrophil and monocyte-lineage fractions were elevated (p = 0.031 and 0.033), while lymphocytes were reduced with borderline significance (p = 0.050).
In our cohort, Guzik’s index was slightly lower in PoAF patients, but this difference had only borderline significance (p = 0.05).
Overall evidence shows no clear sleep improvement (SMD = −0.12, 95% CI: −0.37, 0.12, p = 0.32), despite borderline significance in the high-adherence subgroup ( p = 0.05) and near-significant subgroup differences ( p = 0.06).
PCT and LDH associations were also reported in other studies ( 21 , 27 , 28 ). Although lymphopenia (<800/mm 3 ) and C-reactive protein (CRP) (≥30 mg/dL) remained in the model, they had borderline significance ( p =0.05 for both).
Female sex, previously associated with greater tissue involvement [ 34 ], and the presence of donor‐specific antibodies at day 0 (DSA; not widely reported in the literature and with borderline significance, p = 0.05) were also observed.
There was publication bias for mean birth weight with a borderline significance (Egger's P = 0.050).
However, among rural-dwelling males, Poor HLST (B = 0.029, 95% CI: 0.013–0.044, p < 0.001) and Severely Deteriorating HLST (B = 0.026, 95% CI: 0.005–0.047, p = 0.016) were significantly associated with higher FI, with Mildly Deteriorating HLST also reaching borderline significance (B = 0.018, p = 0.050).
Multivariate analysis assigned a significant predictive value of homosexual transmission to infection with a subtype B virus (p < 0.001), Caucasian origin (p = 0.002), past or present syphilis infection (p < 0.001), being part of a transmission cluster (p = 0.004), past or present HBV (p = 0.012), and, with borderline significance, infection with a drug resistant virus (p = 0.05) (Table 3 ).
While the meta-analysis did not confirm an effect on DGF after living donor KT, the subgroup analysis indicated a reduced incidence of DGF in recipients of deceased donor kidney transplants with dexmedetomidine, with borderline significance (RR: 0.52 [0.26–1.01]; P = 0.05; Fig. 1 A).
The delivery mode required further validation despite its borderline significance ( P = 0.05).
These survival differences were supported by unadjusted Cox regression analyses, which showed significantly higher hazard of graft failure among DCD recipients at 90 days (HR 2.50; 95% CI 1.23–5.16; p = 0.012) and borderline significance at 3 years (HR 1.83; 95% CI 1.00–3.36; p = 0.05).
