After adjustment, although birthweights were similar among infants born to HbAA and HbAS mothers, infants born to HbAC mothers showed a trend towards higher birthweights, although this did not reach statistical significance (mean difference 182.9 g; 95% CI −18.9, 384.8; p = 0.08) (Table 2 ).
Results of the qualitative analysis did not reach statistical significance for the motivational and learning decision making components considered, but approached significance for the attentional component for elderly versus young normals, suggesting a possible decrease in the ability to maintain sustained attention during complex and prolonged tasks as the putative deficit underlying impaired decision making in normal aging.

After excluding patients with mantle cell lymphoma, we analyzed OS in the remaining 409 patients with indolent NHL: the patients in the high BMI group showed longer OS with 85.0% of patients alive at 5 years versus 70.2% in the low BMI group (HR 0.581; 95%CI 0.331–1.022; p = 0.059). Of interest, there was a slight trend for longer PFS in the high BMI group when compared to the low BMI group, which however did not reach statistical significance (HR 0.798; 95%CI 0.586–1.087; p = 0.152), with 42.5% of patients without progression after 5 years in the high BMI group versus 32.9% in the low BMI group (Fig. 1 b).
