In the literature

In case an association did not reach statistical significance at conventional thresholds that account for correction for multiple comparisons (e.g., p < 0.05, familywise error corrected), we explicitly considered the former as providing “exploratory evidence.” ANOVA was used for continuous and normally distributed data and Kruskal–Wallis or Mann–Whitney were used for non-normally distributed data.
The difference in mean cell diameter between Transpose RT / no Matrase isolated ADRCs (10.2μm ± 0.1μm) and Transpose RT / Matrase isolated ADRCs (10.6μm ± 0.1μm) was only approximately 4% and did not reach statistical significance (p = 0.05; n = 12 matched pairs of samples) ( Fig 3D ).
When T cells isolated from the VM lung were treated with brefeldin A, both CD4 + and CD8 + αβ extravascular (EV) T cells showed a higher frequency of IFNγ + cells than WT control cells, although CD8 T cell IFNγ production did not reach statistical significance of P < 0.05 ( P = 0.1470) ( Fig. 3 A and B ).
Although the impact of parental monitoring on the relation between neighborhood cohesion and trust and adolescent deviant behavior did not reach statistical significance ( p ≤ 0.05), it did have a similar pattern as the significant result focused on a neighborhood structural characteristic—adolescent neighborhood racial‐ethnic concentration.
HIV-exposed infants whose mothers tested HIV-negative or were not tested during pregnancy or not taking ART during pregnancy were at increased risk of MTCT, as was starting infant antiretroviral prophylaxis after 72 h and incomplete antiretroviral treatment/prophylaxis (lack of anitretrovirals in either mother or baby or both), however these variables did not reach statistical significance ( p < 0.05).

Of those with high intent, 43.7% favoured vaccination at their HSCT programme, compared with 29.6% at their GP surgery although these findings did not reach statistical significance (p=0.05).
