However, upon further adjustment for lifetime smoking, the effect sizes of the association slightly attenuated and did not reach statistical significance after Bonferroni correction (OR: 0.986; 95% CI: 0.975–0.998; p = 0.020) (Fig. 4 ).

A negative correlation was observed between the left DTI-ALPS index and HbA1c, but this result did not reach statistical significance after multiple comparison correction (r = −0.508, p = 0.021).

Although the CRP level decreased, it did not reach statistical significance ( p = 0.022).

Although SIRT1 levels were increased in the Se group compared to the control group, it did not reach statistical significance.
