Regarding other clinical strata (such as age, gender, and baseline comorbidities), exploratory Subgroup analysis indicated that elevated ACAG levels showed a trend of being associated with a higher risk of death in most clinical subgroups, with particularly pronounced effects observed in younger patients (≤ 60 years), individuals with higher BMI (≥ 25), males, and patients without specific comorbidities such as AKI, CKD, HF, MI, or COPD.
In investigating the relationship between platelet parameters and mortality in sepsis, we unexpectedly observed in univariable Cox analysis that Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial detection was associated with reduced mortality, whereas other pathogens (including fungi, viruses, and atypical organisms) showed a trend toward increased mortality (HR 1.45, Table 2 ).
In ADHD-C, Neuno-Ex and Neuno-In also showed a trend toward enrichment for PLS1− genes, but these associations did not remain significant after full multiple-testing correction (Neuno-In: n = 72, p FDR_ perm = 0.074; Neuno-Ex: n = 94, p FDR_ perm = 0.076) ( Figure 7B ).
