Since glycerol has been implicated in promoting cancer progression in murine models [ 118 ], this pathway may be significant.

Among the top 10 enriched pathways, cytokine–cytokine-receptor interactions exhibited the highest gene ratio and a highly significant adjusted p -value (<0.001), indicating a central role.

Regarding the IA-assisted body composition analysis, the SMI and IMAT were associated with improved OS, while HU showed a statistical trend.

Additional genes ( STK25 , PGBD4 , DIRAS3 , ATG3 , RPS6KA4 , and DDX42 ) demonstrated borderline significance, implicating pathways related to kinetochore assembly, autophagy regulation, and immune signaling.

Using a Bonferroni-corrected significance threshold ( p value of 2.7 × 10 −6 ) and a borderline significant threshold ( p value of 5.5 × 10 −5 ), seven genes showed statistically significant or borderline significant associations in at least one test: MEIKIN , STK25 , PGBD4 , DIRAS3 , ATG3 , RPS6KA4 , and DDX42 .

Patients with parietal tumors showed a trend toward greater impairment, likely due to the proximity of these lesions to the temporoparietal junction and multiple critical association fibers. 4.4.

Density also showed a trend toward significance in predicting VPI, consistent with prior reports [ 8 , 13 , 14 , 22 ], but was excluded due to its high correlation with histotype, which had a stronger association with VPI and effectively incorporated its predictive contribution.

Interestingly, an increasing trend in the use of NST was observed, reaching a peak of 64% in the 2020–2022 period, coinciding with the most recent therapeutic advancements in this setting [ 14 , 15 ].

For rural cancer patients who already face a barrier to accessing supportive care, this impact of obesity on physical function may be significant.

Although the difference in OS between the CR group and the non-CR group did not reach statistical significance (log-rank test, p = 0.095), the CR group showed a trend toward prolonged survival (not reached vs. 8.5 months; Figure 2 B).

These findings suggest a possible trend towards more favorable histological grades in surgically treated patients; however, the small sample size precludes drawing any statistically significant conclusions ( Table 4 ). 4.

Of note, while our analysis showed a trend towards worse outcomes with Recent smoking (although not statistically significant), it is important to note the small sample size in that group (n = 20).

In terms of actual clinical correlation, when they compared combination screening data with in vivo clinical responses, patients classified as responders ( n = 9) tended toward significance of increased ex vivo sensitivity (median DSS of 51.8) versus patients achieving poor response, with a median DSS of 23.4 ( n = 4; minimal response (MR) = 1, stable disease (SD) = 1, progressive disease (PD) = 2).

It is noteworthy that TGs showed a weak negative correlation with a tendency towards significance. 3.4.

Importantly, in multivariable models, mature stroma was significantly associated with improved overall survival compared with immature stroma, whereas intermediate stroma conferred only a nonsignificant trend toward benefit.

For all GCTs combined, the model identified a significant decline in age-standardised 5-year survival during the early years of the study period (1999–2002), followed by a positive trend that eventually recovered and surpassed the initial loss in survival ( Figure 6 a).

Finally, regarding OS results, there was a positive trend in the ITT population with adjuvant alectinib compared to placebo with 4 years of median follow-up (4-year OS 98.4% vs. 92.4%, HR: 0.40, 95% CI 0.12–1.32) [ 71 ].

Given borderline significance and limited numbers, this finding is hypothesis generating and requires prospective validation before informing clinical guidelines.

Our study also found an association that approaches statistical significance between the type of DR and the tumor grade.

MBD1 showed a nonsignificant trend toward increased expression, while MBD3 and DNMT3A did not display subtype-specific differences.
