Collectively, our cytokine and chemokine profile of T2DM patients compared to NDM and controls showed an increasing trend in the inflammatory cytokine panel and augmented levels of chemokines that were primarily responsible for repair and angiogenesis indicating toward the inadequate inflammatory response required for viral clearance but significantly better tissue repair mechanisms in place.
Excerpts
a slight trendgold
CTLA4 was significantly increased in all T cell fractions from CTEPH patients compared to HCs, except for Tregs in which only a slight trend was observed ( Figure 2A ).
A Benjamini-Hochberg FDR of 0.1 was used to identify highly significant associations to account for multiple hypothesis testing.
In agreement with our findings, CD8+ T-cells were also found to be mainly directed toward the NP ( 52 ) indicating that this type of response may be significant for long-term disease protection.
This effect was marginally significant for both crude estimation (RR=1.38, 95% CI: 0.72-2.65, I2 = 87%, study n=7, n=2,239,955) and adjusted estimation (aRR=1.06, 95% CI: 0.97-1.16, I2 = 75%, n=10, n=2,243,370). 3.3.3 Risk of Mortality Among COVID-19 Patients PLWH infected with COVID-19 also had a higher mortality risk than people without HIV infection.
A highly significant correlation between gene significance (GS) and module membership (MM) was observed for this module, meaning that CpGs strongly associated with RW/AS-RSV were also core elements of the module ( Supplementary Figure 2C ).
The causal effect of an exposure on MS is considered indicative if the effect estimate is nominally significant in the IVW method and no contradictory results are found in the sensitivity analyses.
A P value < 0.05 was deemed highly significant.
a slight trendgold
Interestingly, from 8-10 to 14-16 weeks, there was a slight trend toward increased frequencies of NK cells in the mild patients, which was consistent with our previous findings ( Figure 1F ).
Interrogating the TCGA dataset revealed a highly significant correlation between TPSAB1 with C3 ( Figure 8B ).
Moreover, SARS-CoV-2 caused a decreasing trend in type 1 (IFN-γ and TNF-α) and an increasing trend in type 2 (IL-4 and IL-13) cytokine transcript levels in Mtb-infected mice.
We observed a highly significant improvement in treatment effect after intravenous administration compared to intranasal administration ( Figure 1 ).
a clear trendgold
Data analysis demonstrated that a clear trend for a bimodal kinetics wave of serum soluble immune mediators in COVID patients, except for IL-1β, TNF and IL-5.
Among inflammatory factors, mRNA levels of IL-6 were upregulated in mild COPD samples only ( Supplementary Figure S1B ) and ICAM-1 mRNAs showed a trend towards upregulated expression in mild and severe COPD tissue samples, as compared to no-COPD controls ( Supplementary Figure S1C ).
RNA-interference based silencing works primarily in the cytosolic region and even with only 37.5% suppression of LASI lncRNA levels, we observed a highly significant reduction in CSE-induced MUC5AC, ICAM-1, and IL-6 expression.
In our study, the overall amounts of SPM showed a trend toward decrease in CF samples ( Figure 1B ), while the pro-inflammatory mediators (LTB4, PGE2, TXB2 and 6-K-PGF1A) had the opposite trend (increase in CF) ( Supplementary Figure 3 ).
a positive trendgold
With advances in technologies such as cryo-EM to capture viral surface proteins in the appropriate context of their quaternary assembly and accessibility of molecular dynamics simulations to capture antigen structural dynamics, we observe a positive trend toward increased appreciation of epitope complexity features.
Highly significant expression levels were observed in North African catfish and the hybrid catfish in several tissues, including the gills, head kidney, heart, intestine, liver, muscle, ovary, PBLs, skin, spleen, stomach, and testes, compared to those in bighead catfish ( Figure 6B ).
a negative trendgold
We further observed that the Vγ2 x PD-L1-induced Vγ2Vδ2 T cells’ cytotoxicity (killing EC 50 ) towards tumor cells was correlated significantly with these tumor cells’ PD-L1 expression scores, while the release IFNγ EC 50 showed a negative trend with the PD-L1 expression scores ( Figure 6C ).
IL-5 showed an increasing trend in PT compared to SCT.
A highly significant linkage signal (LOD score peak of 72) for ex vivo IL-1β production limited a 4 Mbp interval to chromosome 7.
The hazard ratio (HR) for the whole cohort is very similar to the HR observed in both the IAA-first and GADA-first subgroups, although it does not quite reach significance in smaller subgroups.
Besides, it was also enriched in Toll-like receptor signaling pathway, RIG-I-like receptor signaling pathway and IL-17 signaling pathway, which were closely related to immunity, indicating that there might be significant differences in tumor immune microenvironment between high-risk and low-risk patients ( Figure 5B ).
Although not statistically significant, a low TAC exposure (<5 ng/ml) showed a trend toward an increased risk of BPAR.
extremely significantqualified
All DEGs were visualized using a volcano plot ( Figure 2D ), and it could be seen that there are more downregulated genes with extremely significant adjusted P values and absolute log2FC in comparison with the upregulated ones.
