Critically, the four-way (Condition × Space × Distance × Experiment) interaction approached significance [ F (10,165) = 1.78, p = 0.058, η 2 = 0.10], suggesting that the different types of training induced specific effects on PPS representation.
We then proceeded to analyze the reports from the analog rating scale (Figure 2 ) and found a marginally significant difference in pleasure between the three priming conditions [ F (2, 27) = 3.175, p = 0.058], Group 1 scoring the highest ( M = 7.2, SD = 1.55) and Group 3 the lowest ( M = 5.7, SD = 1.34).
With outliers included in the model it is only marginally significant ( p = 0.058; in all others cases * p <0.05). seq_cross and HSTC, word group based metrics, are the best performing models according to their BIC/AIC, with HSTC coming out on top.
However, workplace vigor, defined as “high levels of energy and resilience, the willingness to invest effort, not being easily fatigued, and persistence in the face of difficulties,” approached significance at p = 0.058 ( Schaufeli et al., 2006 ).
The results showed a trend whereby the infants that looked more to target words at utterance-edge position than to unfamiliar words [ r (32) = 0.33, p = 0.058] and that looked more at target words at utterance-medial position than to unfamiliar words [ r (32) = 0.33, p = 0.052] have larger later expressive vocabulary outcomes measured with the CDI percentile.
Planned paired t -tests between targets surrounded by fearful flanker faces compared to all other flankers (average) were significant for emotion recognition accuracy ( t (28) = 2.18, p = 0.038) and revealed a statistical trend for reaction time ( t (28) = 1.98, p = 0.058) ( Figure 5 ).
Although there was only a marginally significant interaction between age group and gender, F (1,153) = 3.66, p = 0.058, η p 2 = 0.02, tests of simple effects indicate that gender differences in donating are significant for 4-year-olds only ( Table 2 ).
We observed a strong significant positive correlation between Reduced Mind-wandering and Silence (components of the Silencing category) ( r = 0.72, p < 0.001), a significant negative correlation between Attentional Effort and Reduced Mind-wandering ( r = −0.49, p < 0.05), and a correlation that approached significance between Attentional Effort and Silence ( r = -0.40, p = 0.058) ( Figure 3B ).
For when the case type was guilty, for judges there was an effect of rating [ F (2, 64.3) = 3.503, p = 0.036], but no evidence for a CF, rather a situation where Prob ( B ) > Prob ( A&B ) (M ProbB = 9.543, SE ProbB = 0.250; M ProbA&B = 8.831, SE ProbA&B = 0.276, marginally approaching significance, p = 0.058, d = 0.612) (Taylor, 2015 ).
The main effect of emotion conditions was marginally significant [ F (1.407, 21.100) = 3.616, p = 0.058, η p 2 = 0.194], but the main effect of time points and the interaction were all not significant.
In a similar vein, two-sample t -tests between 6-year-old TD and 8-year-old ASD children showed a marginally significant effect for saccades between the target and the relational location, t (43.74) = 1.95, p = 0.058, but no effects for saccades between the target and the non-relational location, t (44) = 0.82, p = 0.419.
The effect of distractor location was marginally significant, F (2,28) = 3.89, MSE = 1682, p = 0.0583, η p 2 = 0.12, showing larger interference at the repeated location (14 ms) as compared to the non-repeated location (2 ms).
Interestingly, we also observe marginally significant associations between pathogen disgust sensitivity and those with whom the respondents have closer ties—that is, people they know personally ( b = −0.06, p = 0.059 (M3))—and even friends ( b = −0.06, p = 0.063 (M2)).
The results for males showed that the sensitivity of the Flanker Task to detect any differences between students with and without disabilities for the RT measure revealed a trend approaching significance for an effect of Disability [ F (1) = 4.142, p = 0.059, η p 2 = 0.206].
Compared to the no-contrast condition, the increase triggered by the object contrast was only marginally significant (χ 2 = 3.6, df = 1, n = 76, p = 0.059), whereas the decrease triggered by the liquid contrast was significant (χ 2 = 37.2, df = 1, n = 73, p < 0.001).
