The Development and Interaction networks encompassed broad functional categories, spreading the networks’ genes among many different categories, so that enrichment results rarely survive multiple testing correction; nominally significant functional enrichment terms are therefore included for the annotation of the Development and Interaction networks (Fig. 2 , top panel ).

The higher binding energy agreed well with the values found for oxidized Pt (Supplementary Table 4 ), although a clear trend in the literature is missing.

Linking tropical Africa cooling to El Niño onset In ATM, the equatorial Pacific wind stress and SST response is negative but hardly significant at the end of the eruption year (Fig. 5a, b yellow curve ), indicating that in isolation from the surface cooling, the direct effect of the radiative forcing on the atmosphere cannot explain the volcanically induced western Pacific initial westerly wind anomaly (Fig. 4e, f ) and the subsequent El Niño.

A Mann–Kendall trend analysis indicates a positive trend (Supplementary Table 1 , Theil–Sen’s slope = 0.06), in the moisture contribution from the Arabian Sea, significant at 95% confidence level.

The surface temperature anomalies show an increasing trend, and a significant correlation (at 95% confidence levels) with the increasing pressure gradient anomalies ( r = 0.36) and the variability of the moist westerlies ( r = 0.33).

FC showed a trend of increase of sweep numbers in SNI group compared to naïve group (Fig. 4c ).

With higher host number densities it becomes difficult to prove an AGN connection solely using GW localizations, although the construction of additional GW detectors (Kamioka Gravitational Wave Detector, or KAGRA 26 and LIGO India 4 ), and potentially the inclusion of marginally significant GW events, will further improve the situation.

rmTBI led to a statistical trend in increased Aβ deposition and treatment with cis mAb also prevented the increase (Supplementary Fig. 9d, e ).

This is quite significant given that typical PFOS adsorbent materials reported up to date would involve only one or two of these driving forces 51 , and offers clues on why SCU-8 exhibits such advantages in term of sorption kinetics and efficiency over other reported sorbent materials.
