Compared with those regions with a significant trend in climate change impacts on water resources over 1971–2010, affecting on average 12.1% of the global population, we find, finally, that HI impacts contributed or dominated the change in water resources over time in a significant part of the globe, inhabited by 8.2% and 1.5% of the global population, respectively ( Table 4 ).
Although histology samples did not show any differences in the inflammatory status of patients with IBD prior to or after hypoxia, immunostaining for p62 of distal colon sections showed a trend towards reduced protein levels of p62 1 week after hypoxia in HV and patients with CD, indicating a hypoxia-mediated increase in autophagy flux (Fig. 1g , arrowheads ).
Finally, we also observed an overall trend towards reduction of nucleolar size in muscle biopsies of elderly human volunteers who underwent a regime reducing caloric intake by 12.5% combined with moderate increase in exercise by 12.5% ( Fig. 4e,f ).
Linking tropical Africa cooling to El Niño onset In ATM, the equatorial Pacific wind stress and SST response is negative but hardly significant at the end of the eruption year (Fig. 5a, b yellow curve ), indicating that in isolation from the surface cooling, the direct effect of the radiative forcing on the atmosphere cannot explain the volcanically induced western Pacific initial westerly wind anomaly (Fig. 4e, f ) and the subsequent El Niño.
