In the complete case analysis, the association was less highly significant in the BMI models where the covariates included in the model appear to have a negligible impact on the effect estimates of DEP3, while in the waist circumference model, each included confounder reduces the effect estimate substantially, although the DEP3 effect remains sizeable and highly significant.
Excerpts
All the estimated standard deviations of the random coefficients (ASCs) were highly significant, confirming the suitability of the model.
Page’s trend test, instead, was used to verify if there was a significant trend (decreasing or increasing) taking into account the three measures simultaneously.
Conclusions Our research showed a trend towards a younger AAM and related non-communicable disease risk during the 20th century in Mexico.
While some key variables approached significance, none reached the a priori statistical threshold of 0.05.
The role of the microbiota in this increased acetate production of obese/IR states, particularly in the fasted state may be significant [ 46 ] and may lead to altered glucose-stimulated insulin production, fat storage and could ultimately lead to insulin resistance.
a positive trendgold
In previous works, we have proved that supplementation with vitamin D of the same group of soccer players may show a positive trend with regard to improving the indicators characterizing their aerobic endurance [ 36 ], as well as speed and explosive power [ 26 ].
markedly significantqualified
The rats that were treated with OA neonatally showed a markedly significant ~18.8-fold increase in Cpt-1 gene expression when compared to the CON group whereas the HF+MET group had ~18.5-fold increase in Cpt-1 gene expression when compared to the CON group.
Those not physically active were more often daily drinkers of SSB than the more active, though the distributions differed between sexes, and the difference was only borderline significant in males.
Indeed, we observed a borderline significant decreasing trend of saturated fat consumption across the DQI tertiles. 4.2.
However, for pathway 1 only the TXNRD1 selenoprotein gene rs11111979 SNP retained borderline significance after correction for multiple testing.
The changes for OPG and sclerostin they observed were not statistically significant but showed a trend in the same direction [ 84 , 85 ].
the lowest OBS, all four OBSs showed a statistically significant reduced adenoma risk with ORs ranging from 0.38 to 0.54, and a significant trend of association with increasing OBSs values.
In our study, we observed a nonsignificant trend that children and adolescents getting fewer hours of sleep were less likely to have optimal adherence to the MD.
However, certain microbial metabolites have been shown to be detrimental to health and may be significant contributors to the development and progression of metabolic diseases in the host [ 97 ].
a clear trendgold
Furthermore, T-0.0Beer group showed a significant decrease in VAT and WC, and a clear trend decrease in WHiR, while T-Beer and T-Ethanol groups did not show impairment in either of variables (see Table 1 ).
A type I error of 0.05 was used for all analyses, with P values between 0.05 and 0.10 considered as borderline significance.
There was a significant or borderline significant main effect of depressive states in seven n-3 PUFAs, excluding n-3/n-6 PUFAs ratio and n-6 PUFAs.
When further adjustments were made in Model 3 for medications for hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes, OR for copper intake remained significant, but those for zinc and manganese intakes were slightly reduced and showed marginal significance (Model 3: zinc: OR, 1.66, 95% CI, 0.89–3.09; copper: OR, 2.35, 95% CI, 1.20–4.62; manganese: OR, 1.98, 95% CI, 0.93–4.24).
an overall trendgold
Although attempts to identify consistent, specific ‘trigger’ foods that predict the development of UC have been unsuccessful, there appears to be an overall trend for an association between an animal-based diet and UC development and activity, while a plant-based diet may be protective against UC [ 8 ].
However, there was a decreasing trend in the Cd 1 +Ca H group ( Table 6 ). 3.2.
TC and LDL-C levels showed a decreasing trend after 8 weeks in both the high-level and low-level groups; however, there were no significant differences between the groups.
One study reported that there is an increasing trend in the number of meals and snacks (from here on termed eating occasions) consumed in a day among representative samples of US children aged 2–18 years, from three per day in 1977 to five per day in 2006 [ 9 ].
Finally, we selected mastication disorder, preoperative weight loss, and energy intake (preoperatively and at the fourth week postoperatively) as variables in the multivariate Cox proportional hazards model because these factors had a marginal significance based on the univariate Cox proportional hazards model, correlation and VIF.
However, owing to lack of marginal significance in the results of the univariate Cox proportional hazards model for these factors, we did not use these factors in the multivariate Cox proportional hazards model.
