As Fig 1 demonstrated, antibiotic consumption in China presented an increasing trend during the study period.

However, because this correction is conservative when used in the context of GWAS, all marginally significant markers with a P value lower than 10 -6 were considered of interest and grouped into peaks.

PINX1 , which was only borderline significant in Whites, also showed a nominal significance in African Americans.

Also, the majority shows a decreasing trend, albeit not always a linear one.

Genetic diversity Measures of expected heterozygosity and allelic richness both showed an increasing trend from pre- to post-supplementation samples ( Fig 3A ).

However, 10 weeks after the dox treatment the VEGF-A mRNA levels showed an increasing trend in all studied tissues (heart, kidney, lungs, spleen, skeletal muscle, liver) in TG mice in comparison to TG mice without the dox treatment (data not shown).

When then integrated over the entire set of observed larvae, it was possible to recover an estimate of the mortality of the larvae by year and spawning component [ 60 ]: clear differences between the components could be seen together with a strong trend in recent years.

In this unselected study population, Kaplan-Meier plots visualize a highly significant discrimination of events within the first years of follow-up defined by invasive or non-invasive as well as serological parameters (Figs 2 to 5 , S1 – S8 Figs).

No effect for time was observed for GH2 variant 2, GH2 variant 3, or GH2 variant 4, however, group differences for GH2 variant 2 (p = 0.059) and variant 3 (p = 0.070) approached significance.

With a p value of p = 0.052, one could argue that there was a trend towards significance.

There was no trend in mean FVC-levels across the categories of CPI, but a significant trend in mean FEV 1 and mean for the ratio of FVC to FEV 1 was observed in both men and women ( Table 1 ).
