In addition, a recently published analysis from the DONALD (Dortmund Nutrition and Anthropometric Longitudinally Designed) study found a positive trend between urinary sodium excretion and increase in body weight and body fat percentage, among 364 children and adolescents [2] .
In addition to this, we found a significant trend towards increased height, weight- and lean mass status at baseline and follow-up with increased salt consumption and a significant trend between salt consumption and an increased intake of energy from all macronutrients.
Baseline EDSS was also a highly significant predictor of outcome using standard logistic-regression analysis [14] In both analyses, the EDSS out-performed the MSSS.
Although in some in vivo studies c-kit + /Lin − cells have shown beneficial results against cardiac remodeling after MI, in others no effect or only marginally significant effects were observed [13] , [51] – [54] .
By contrast, the needle leaf litter showed a trend to decrease, increase, and then markedly decrease when the rainfall intensity increased gradually from 6.7 to 115 mm h –1 .
Also, if we compare it with our previously published CD profiles for insulin [14] , [42] the changes in the data around 253 nm are significantly reproducable and exhibit a definite trend.
When the duration of aspirin use was divided into two subgroups (<5 years and ≥5 years), we observed a suggestive trend of decreasing risk of gastric cancer associated with increasing duration of aspirin use (RR = 0.95, 95% CI 0.76–1.14, for <5 years; RR = .67, 95% CI 0.56–0.79, for ≥5 years; Figure S2 ).
The line factor was significant in a few cases but the line by temperature interaction was highly significant for all traits in both sexes implying a significant contribution of the genetic factors to total phenotypic variation ( Table 1 ).
The GA combination also shares a highly significant, strong dominant effect on generating MASP-2 levels higher than 600 ng/mL with four other minor alleles: g.4847C in the promoter (rs7548659), g.21081T in intron 9 (rs17409276), g.21370T or p.371D in exon 10 (rs12711521) and g.24762C or p.S493 in exon 12 (rs1782455) ( Table 1 ).
Patel at the 2010 ASCO meeting in Chicago showed a trend toward response and clinical benefit in the patients treated with MEK 1/2 inhibitor and harboring a BRAF V600E gene mutation [11] .
As shown in Table 2 for measurements by commercial ELISA, highly significant differences in IFN-γ responses to ESAT-6, CFP-10, TB7.7, ESAT-6+CFP-10, and ESAT-6+CFP-10+TB7.7 were observed for CCTB patients compared with controls ( p for each comparison <0.001).
HPX levels in subject plasma showed an overall trend of lowered expression in those with active cirrhosis compared to controls, with a “bounce back” effect seen as the protein levels are somewhat restored to control levels in the HCC subjects.
This makes it very difficult to carry out a fair correction so we have left the statistics uncorrected and chosen a relatively conservative threshold of P ≤0.01 for significance, and the interval 0.01< P ≤0.05 as marginal significance worthy of discussion.
Four of them were at the margin of significance, with two (towards the left end of chromosomes 2 and 8) slightly exceeding and two (one at the left end of chromosome 1, the other at the right end of chromosome 9) nearly reaching the threshold; while all others were apparently under the threshold ( Figure 1B ).
Even though there was a clear trend between waist circumference and the detection rates of Methanobacteriales, the correlation coefficient of +0.23 between the number of Methanobacteriales and waist circumference can be interpreted as a weak association.
Average leg orientation IMA showed an increasing trend with smaller targets and showed a significant increase between the large and small target conditions (F(2,30) = 4.675, p = 0.02, Figure 4 ).
Although most OCPs in serum showed positive associations with levels of Methanobacteriales , in particular cis-nonachlor (r = +0.53, P<0.05), oxychlordane (r = +0.46, P<0.1), and trans-nonachlor (r = +0.43, P<0.1) showed statistically significant or marginally significant correlations.
Interestingly, there was a clear trend towards an increased expression of UCP3 in DCM hearts of patients who had not received metoprolol as compared to non-failing myocardium.
All error bars were expressed as SD, with * p <0.05was considered statistically significant difference, ** p <0.01 was considered statistically very significant difference and *** p <0.001 was considered statistically extremely significant difference.
With the Q 2 value within the excellent range, close cross validation, response permutation significantly below the maximum values allowed, and all the variables used highly significant with similar relevance to the model; as well as the regression line of the training set with RMSEE of 3.5, coupled with the R 2 value of 0.9779 and RMSEP of 3.8 for the test set indicates that this is a very good model, see figure 3 .
When the combined VAT area between L3-4 and L5-S1 was used instead of a single level of VAT (992.3±48.7 cm 2 in men and 1469.4±53.7 cm 2 in women, P<0.001), this merged VAT area was associated with MS with a borderline significance ( Table S3 ).
Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was applied to ascertain the significant of differences, and the p-values less than 0.05 were considered as significant (*) and the p-values less than 0.005 were considered as highly significant (**).
