No differences were observed for sex and only RP showed a significant effect of diet; however, the variable "site" was highly significant as in the gene expression analysis.
Excerpts
CD36 stimulation decreased both APP and the tight junction marker, occludin, protein levels with a slight but not quite significant increase in fatty acid binding protein, LFABP, and no effect on protein levels of fatty acid translocase/CD36, or the fatty acid transport protein, FATP4.
an overall trendgold
There was an overall trend for left-to-right spatial flow to increase recall, driven mainly by poor-performing female participants, who performed better overall in left-to-right spatial type trials relative to unstructured trials, but did not show this same benefit for right-to-left trials.
When subjects were asked to recall a very long string of locations, they showed a trend to better recall the initial information if the spatial flow was from left-to-right, and final information if spatial flow was right-to-left.
Of the 14 symptoms assessed, six were significantly more prevalent in subjects with schizophrenia than in subjects with other mental disorders and 2 additional items showed a trend in the same direction.
Results The short (s) low expressing allele showed association with increased risk of depression related phenotypes, but all nominally significant effects would turn to non-significant after correction for multiple testing in the traditional analysis.
There was no difference in the BMI between men in our study populations and two reference populations even if a highly significant difference in VAT was found.
Our analysis further pointed out changes in aldosterone signaling, which are likely to be significant in the biliary tract because bile production depends on osmotic effects triggered by secretion of both bile acid and sodium [ 47 ].
The error rate in the standard trials was larger in the fatigue state with an increasing trend, but without significant difference.
Our previous results using a standard QTL method based on linkage mapping provided us with numerous QTL; however, the GWAS detected a lower number of markers with a highly significant association.
Interestingly, although the retention ratio exhibited a decreasing trend with time, there was no significant difference among the different injection time points ( Fig. 6B ).
multilocularis in definitive hosts [ 13 ], and our data suggest that such a dilution effect ( sensu [ 13 ]) may be significant in summer but absent in winter, when only competent intermediate host species are consumed ( Fig. 2B ).
a weak trendgold
This last hypothesis is consistent with our fecundity model selection results, which showed a weak trend for average fecundity to decline during winters with thin snowpack (high PDO values) while breeding effort did not.
CMA showed a trend of an association.
an overall trendgold
At Hut Point, pH exhibited very low hourly variation with an overall trend of decreasing pH over the deployment duration.
However, intervals were different leading to a significant association with Bayesian modelling for LRI and nearly significant for DNC but not significant with both multiple imputation.
Experiments for contrast analysis To explore the two different scenarios considered above (highly significant local differences between groups, and more subtle wide spread differences) numerical experiments have been devised.
Table 1 shows that the results of contrast meta-analysis are not significant (FCDR>0.05) for 10 or 14 studies per group, and just about significant with 16 studies per group.
Highly significant links [BF>100, Indicator (I) = 1] were found between major North American flyways, particularly between Atlantic and Mississippi (R = 0.17 exchange/year); Mississippi and Pacific (R = 0.22 exchange/year), Central and Atlantic (R = 0.25 exchange/year) and Central and Pacific (R = 0.18 exchange/year) ( Figure 5A and Table S7 ).
Hospital based study also showed marginally significant association.
The present study also recorded a decreasing trend in the macrofauna standing stock from the WM to the CM and EM basins, the only exception being the evident drop along the Balearic slope area (WM-1).
When allowing for a 2-year lag period between marital status and disease, RRs of T2D for widowers were augmented and borderline significant (RR:1.24 [95%CI:1.00,1.54]) after full adjustment.
Even though IL-12p40 and IL-10 were significantly increased in hu TLR7/8 BAC+ mice compared to Tlr7/8 DKO mice, the control uninjected hu TLR7/8 BAC+ mice also showed a trend towards higher levels than the DKO mice suggesting that human TLR7 or TLR8 might be constitutively activated in the BAC+ mice.
While the number of years is too few to ascertain a significant trend, there is an apparent increase in the upper quantiles of the annual intensity distributions resulting from the noted increases in damage path dimensions.
However, a significant trend toward the emergence of non- Candida albicans Candida (NCAC) species, such as C. glabrata , has been observed in recent years [4] , [7] .
