There was a general increase in the fishing mortality of the dusky kob since 2005 (with some variability), whereas the fishing mortality estimates for leerfish varied substantially, with a decreasing trend overall ( Fig 2 , solid red line).

Remarkably, despite the relative small number of samples, we observed a strong trend towards a significant statistical difference in the RET immunostaining between samples carrying S836S/3’UTR ( GTCAC ) haplotype and those without these variants (392.7 (297–463) vs. 189.5 (152–324), P = 0.054; Fig 4B ).

This is likely reflected in the borderline level of statistical significance found for some analyses, particularly comparisons involving data from men, who comprised just slightly over one third of all individuals in the cohort.

Moreover, we observed a positive trend over the years.

The percentage of the Th1 subset showed a decreasing trend after 12 weeks of retreatment (36.2±8.24% vs. 32.9±6.96%), but this difference was not significant (p = 0.2).

One study [ 103 ] reported lower risk of diabetes in women eating moderate and high amounts of fish and shellfish with a significant trend with greater fish and shellfish intake.

Results and Discussion High EGFR expression was an independent risk factor for shorter overall survival (OS), whereas high HER3 expression was associated with a borderline significant trend towards a longer OS.

Our study using hourly temperature data in a large international study population corroborates the findings of a Taiwanese study with known hourly temperature data at ICH onset which showed a trend of increased ICH occurrence towards the lower temperature and is also consistent with prior investigations and clinical observation of a peak ICH occurrence in the winter due in part to the trigger effect of low ambient temperature on the risk of ICH onset at particular times of the day [ 2 – 5 , 25 ].

To illustrate and contrast the computational time of each approach, we begin by considering the analysis time for each of two genes, Lipoprotein, Lp(A) (LPA) and Proline/Serine-Rich Coiled-Coil 1 (PSRC1) with 67 and 5 SNPs respectively, both highly significant based on minP and the C s statistic (results not shown) in CARDIoGRAM.

A highly significant value for IL6 was only observed when considering the adult group, but it must be highlighted that this gene was detected in few samples, which were the ones used for statistical calculations.

Nevertheless, an interesting trend in rapid fatigue management could still be objectively inferred.

Nevertheless, there is an encouraging trend that these supplementations may enhance exercise capacity in SCI populations.

Thus, there is a need to intensify efforts on home-based FES systems and the prescription of training ‘dose’ to facilitate self-care post SCI [ 22 ], since there may be significant time constraints for patients to attend clinics and gymnasiums.

Results Time trends in food habits Fruit consumption As shown in Table 2 , a positive trend in adolescents’ fruit consumption was observed for Norway (OR 1.85, CI 1.54–2.23), Denmark (OR 1.66, CI 13.6–2.02) and Sweden (OR 1.36, CI 1.12–1.66) when comparing survey year 2001/2002 with 2005/2006.

Furthermore, a study with a 26-year follow-up period reported that high late-life BMI was associated with lower risk of Alzheimer’s disease (0.89, 0.81–0.98) and marginally significant association with lower onset of dementia [ 7 ].

The H E level of the HAT sample was approximately 19% higher than CAT sample, with the difference being marginally significant (Tables 2 and 3 ).

We used the Kruskal-Wallis test to determine a possible trend in the temporal development of AWFR of normoxic cultures.

Tests resulting in p-value < 0.05 are reported as significant and 0.05 < p-value < 0.10 are reported as marginally significant.

We did however find a trend towards significance with VDBP rs7041 and probable/definite TB or death, not found when adding possible TB to the outcome.

Fractal Dimension in Healthy Aging Elderly healthy subjects showed a trend towards whole-brain decline in fractal dimension.

When the ‘not consumers before 2009’ are compared to the ‘always consumers’ group ( Fig 8 ), the relative risks of the ‘always consumers’ are always higher, however, there appears to be an increasing trend from 2011 onwards in the ‘not consumers before 2009’, which is not observed in the ‘always consumers’.

We observed a strong trend for worse outcomes in patients without renal disease.

In parasternal short axis, RS and circumferential strain (CS) showed a trend of decrease upon ISO insult ( Fig 2E and 2G ), whereas both RSR and circumferential strain rate (CSR) dramatically decreased at 3 days and 7 days after ISO injection compared with control ( Fig 2F and 2H ).

Although an almost significant marginal association between CRP and periodontitis was observed in the present study, our findings suggest the systemic effect of local infection including periodontitis in the association between CRP and MS.

A marginally significant association was found for the mean percentage of BOP or periodontal disease status.
